Iran’s Sunni leader addresses the officials:

You Cannot Overcome Crises without National Support

You Cannot Overcome Crises without National Support

The most influential Iranian Sunni leader insisted on management of the current unsolved crises in Iran, and listening to the voice of the nation. “In order to maintain the power, officials must manage the country’s crises correctly and wisely, and get people’s support,” Shaikh Abdol-Hamid believed.
He was talking to the people of Zahedan, (capital city of the province of Sistan-Balochistan) on August 11, 2023.

The country has been suffering from crisis in economy, water shortage, healthcare, natural resources, etc.
The Friday prayer leader of Sunnis in Zahedan continued his speech by saying: “Unfortunately, we have been witnessing crises in our country in various fields. As we suffer from economic and political problems, we also struggle with natural crisis. Natural crisis has been hitting the natural resources and the environment. The repeated wildfires in Marivan forests are great loss.”
“The people of Iran have been suffering from the lack of drinking water due to drought and famine. Lakes, rivers and wetlands have been drying up. The ancient lakes of Orumieh and Hamoon have dried up. The storms, dust, drought and drying of lakes and wetlands have disturbed people’s lives,” said the president of Darululoom Zahedan.
The Iranian top Sunni leader referred to the critical situation of healthcare and medicine in Iran, saying: “In healthcare, the country has a critical situation. Experts have warned that the condition of medicine and treatment is miserable. People do not have access to so many medicines; they cannot afford to buy injections and medicine at exorbitant prices. Someone said that he spent 60 million tomans to buy an injection.”
“The fall in the value of the national currency is another crisis. The economic crisis has affected people’s lives. The people of Iran have been struggling with so many troubles due to weak management of officials,” he added more.

The authorities failed to manage the crises
The Iranian eminent Sunni scholar of Zahedan went on to criticize the weak management of officials in the face of crises, and said: “Inefficient and weak management of the officials has increased the country’s crises. Everywhere of the world people face droughts and crises, but it is important how to manage such disasters. The authorities must manage the crises in such a way that the country gets out of the problems. The nation feels that in the current situation, the authorities cannot manage the crises.”
“Either the managers do not have the enough authority, or they are weak. Crisis management is very important to get rid of problems and critical situations,” he said.
“Today, we do not have a person like the Caliph Ali who resists in the face of crises and manages problems. We do not have someone like the Caliph Abu Bakr, who managed crises correctly and prevented from dangers after the passing of the holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. Therefore, the nation suffers from hunger and problems, because the crisis management is weak in our country. The masses are worried because many officials do not have the capability to manage the crises,” Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said.

The problems will not solve by imprisonment and issuance of heavy sentences
Women’s dignity should be preserved
The Friday Khateeb of Zahedan criticized restrictions against people of different strata, and said: “Imprisonment of journalists, politicians, and issuing heavy sentences, such as execution will not resolve the problems. To solve problems, plan correctly, sit with the people, and fulfill their legitimate demands. If people do not accompany you, you will not be able to manage the crises and solve problems.”
“Without people, you cannot cross these crises and problems. Get people’s support, sit with them, and listen to them. Pay special attention to women. Women are sisters, girls, mothers and daughters of people, so their dignity must be preserved and they should gain their real position. If you answer the demands of women, they will also show a positive reaction,” said Imam of the Grand Makki Mosque of Zahedan.
He referred to the position of journalists and social activists, saying: “In all societies, journalists are the best opportunities as they reflect the facts. So their position must be observed. If journalists wrote against the reality, warn them, but if they reflected the facts, even if the fact was against you, tolerate them.”

The power of every system is in hearing people’s voices
Mawlana Abdol-Hamid insisted on hearing people’s voices and said: “In every system, the authorities hear the words of the people, and show patience. The power of the system does not lie in ignoring the words of the people, but this is a sign of weakness. We are well-wishers, and I am not looking for personal interests, but we follow the interests of the country and nation. We believe that the interests of the country belong to the entire nation.”
“All officials directly or indirectly get their approval and legitimacy from the nation, and the people are the real owners of the country. We want to achieve our dignity, and we struggle for the development of the country. I want the prosperity of the people in this world and in the hereafter. This is a big mistake if someone thinks that the religion of Islam is against the progress and the development of this world,” he further said.

The Afghan government should manage Hirmand water so that the people of Sistan can benefit from it
The Friday Imam of Zahedan referred to the intense crisis of water in the Sistan region, and addressed the Afghan officials, saying: “Sistan is your closest neighbor that is in a severe crisis of water shortage. The people of Sistan struggle with the shortage of drinking water. We ask the Islamic government of Afghanistan to manage Hirmand water in a way that water will reach the people of both Nimruz in Afghanistan and Sistan in Iran.”
“Water should be managed in such a way that the people of the upstream areas do not consume more than they need, so that the water reaches lower areas as well,” he added more.

Unqualified dam construction is a big mistake
The Iranian top Sunni leader continued his Friday speech of Zahedan, and said: “The construction of dams without criteria has hit the interests of the people. Allah Almighty created dams underground to keep waters for the benefits of humans and creatures, but on the earth, the path of rivers, even in the mountains, has been open.”
“After the construction of dams, the forests, lakes, and wetlands have been destroying and farms are ruined. The construction of dams without proper and deep research is a blunder. Unfortunately, some countries are trying to prevent water from entering the neighboring countries by building dams; this is wrong,” said the president of Darululoom Zahedan.
“We have heard that Russia has closed the Volga river to the Caspian Sea. If this river is closed, the Caspian Sea will destroy. According to the religion of Islam, and to international customs, what has flowed in the past should remain like the past,” Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said.

The Holy Qur’an is the book of the entire world
In the first part of his Friday sermons of Zahedan, the most outstanding Iranian Sunni scholar insisted on imitating the Holy Qur’an in all affairs of life, and said: “It is important to follow the instructions of the Noble Qur’an, and imitate the religion of the prophet Ibrahim, peace be upon him. The Qur’an is the most sacred book of the Lord that has revealed to the entire world. The Holy Qur’an is the book of mercy, enlightening, wisdom, and guidance. This sacred book brightens the wisdom, wakes up the consciences, and paves the ways of blessings and happiness.”
“Unfortunately, today, people study the books of scholars and thinkers, but they are far away from the teachings of the Holy Qur’an,” he expressed his concerns.
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said: “The Holy Qur’an has forbidden from drinking wine and from gambling; because wine damages the body and takes away the wisdom. Gambling causes loss of the rights of others. Adultery, murder, and everything the Qur’an has forbidden is wise.”
“The religion of Islam is the closest religion to the prophet Ibrahim’s religion; all the prophets were on one path. The Prophet Ibrahim was the ensign of monotheism. The religion of Ibrahim was the most monotheistic religion of Allah. Almighty Allah ordered the Prophet Muhammad to follow the prophet Ibrahim’s Path,” he said.
The president of Darululoom Zahedan said: “Imitating the way of the Prophets, the Companions and the righteous people will bring us closer to Almighty Allah.”
