The most influential Iranian Sunni leader Pointed out to responsibility of the rulers and governments towards nations’ rights. Shaikh Abdol-Hamid believed that the national interests and demands must be
at the top of the rulers’ affairs.
He was talking to the people of Zahedan before the Friday prayers on March 15, 2024.
The Iranian top Sunni cleric mentioned the way of governance during the early years of Islam and said: “The system of government of the holy Prophet and the righteous Caliphs was a great mercy to human beings. Throughout history, many Islamic rulers and systems have been merciful to the people. The Rashidin Caliphs, may Allah be pleased with them, and the Umar bin Abdul-Aziz, may Allah have mercy on him, were mercy to all people”.
“In a matter of fact, the prophet Muhammad peace be upon him was the prophet of mercy to all people. He used to sit on the floor with people. He endured hunger to feed others. One day the Caliph Umar may Allah be pleased with him went up on the pulpit and the companions saw that there were several ties on his clothes. In order to know about the situation of the people, he used to visit Madinah at night. The Caliph Umar ordered his governors to investigate the condition of the people, “The Friday prayer leader of Sunnis in Zahedan pointed out to the Seerah of the holy prophet and his companions.
Imam of the Grand Makki Mosque of Zahedan said that the rulers should not put obstacles between themselves and the people, but serve the people.
“It is very good when the ruler is with the people and endures hunger to feed the nation. The ruler must be the voice of the people. The rulers, the clerics, and the tribal elders can be successful if they listen to the people, and take care of their problems, “shaikh Abdol-Hamid pointed out to the responsibility of the rulers.
“Those in power must be a mercy to the weak people, “he underlined.
No ruler should consider the government as his inherent right
The eminent Iranian Sunni leader continued his speech by saying: The ruler must think about national interests. National interest is very important. All governments of the world should focus on preserving the national interests. First of all, rulers should think about the interests of their own nation and then think of the interests of weak and needy nations”.
He added more: “The ruler must hear the voice of the people, feel their pain and work for them. No ruler should consider the government as his inherent right. Government is a blessing from God, so the ruler should be grateful to Almighty Allah. The ruler should not make a difference between the nations, but should think about the interests of all, including the interests of religious and ethnic communities”.
“Rulers are responsible towards People’s problems. In this way, the ruler can achieve the satisfaction of Allah Almighty. Officials should hear the cries of the people, see the situation of the villagers, the unemployed and focus on national interests, “he further insisted.
“We believe that there should be no political prisoners in any country, but politicians should be heard. If the prisoners say the truth, respect them. Free the political prisoners and improve the condition of the Iranian nation. Iranians are among the best nations in the world, “the president of Darululoom Zahedan defended the rights of prisoners and politicians.
The current Afghan government has succeeded in fighting corruption and providing security
The most outstanding Iranian Sunni scholar went on to discuss about the successes of the current Afghan government. He pointed out to the fall of the national currency and said: “Managers of the Central Bank of Iran should consult with Afghan managers to increase the value of the country’s currency. We express our happiness that Afghanistan, our neighboring country, has been successful in the fight against corruption. Corruption causes destruction wherever it is in the world.
It is a fact that corruption has been eradicated in Afghanistan today”.
“The second success of Afghanistan is establishing security. In Afghanistan, the corruption and insecurity have been very worrying in the past. This country suffered from insecurity for several decades, but today security has returned to Afghanistan. Actually, the security is one of the great blessings. We feel happiness when we hear about the increase in the value of this country’s currency; this is a big blessing, he said.
“The managers of the Central Bank of Iran should at least consult with the managers of the Central Bank of Afghanistan and ask them what they have done to increase the value of their national currency, “the Friday Imam of Zahedan addressed the Iranian officials.
Today, the people of Gaza and Ukraine are being targeted with destructive weapons; where is humanity!
Expressing his regret over the massacre of defenseless people in Palestine and Ukraine, the Iranian top Sunni leader said: “It is vital to develop the high place of humanity with beautiful characteristics. Those who are sympathetic to people, they cry for the oppressed people who burn in the fire of wars. Today, superpowers target weak people with advanced and destructive weapons. They have no sense that how much these destructive weapons destroy people. People’s lives are destroyed and children and women are burned under bombs and destructive missiles”.
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid continued his Friday speech of Zahedan and said: “The arrogant people of the world do not think that the victims are also human beings and have the right to live. Where is the humanity when in this holy month of Ramadan, which is the month of mercy, bombs and rockets rain down on people in many places. As human beings, we should even think about the safety of animals and plants”.
Mawlana Abdol-Hamid questioned: “What is happening to the people of Gaza these days! What is the situation of Ukrainian people, including the situation of women and children?
What the Ukrainian people believe in, is none of my business, but I would like to ask, why are the powers use weapons against the defenseless Ukrainian people? Why do they destroy people’s lives? If the powers have problems with each other, what are the sins of the nations?”
“These days, we should pray for the oppressed people of Gaza and Palestine to live in peace and for the war to end. The Palestinian lands must be returned to the Palestinians and the Palestinian people must achieve independence, the president of Darululoom Zahedan insisted.
The people of the province should respect Nowrooz travelers
The prominent Sunni cleric of Iranian Baluchistan urged on respecting the Nowrooz travelers and said: “I wish happiness and pride in the new year to the Iranian nation and to other nations of the world”.
“I would like to advise all of you to treat the dear people of Iran who travel to Sistan-Baluchistan province with respect, kindness and honor, “shaikh Abdol-Hamid addressed the people of Baluchistan.
At the end of his speech, the Friday Imam of Zahedan thanked the Iranian nation for humanitarian aids to the flood victims of southern Baluchistan/Dashtiari.
“I would like to thank the people of Iran, especially the dear people of Tehran, for their help and sympathy with the flood victims of Dashtiari”.
“They cooperated with people and eased their sorrow. May Allah grant honor and pride to the Iranian nation, “said shaikh Abdol-Hamid.
