Iran’s Sunni leader:

Running the Country, Not Possible in Current Way

Running the Country, Not Possible in Current Way

Pointing out to the current economic crises and political and spiritual problems in the country, the most influential Iranian Sunni leader noted that the majority of people believe it is not possible to run the country’s affairs with the current policies.
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid insisted that the state had a duty to improve both material and spiritual affairs of the nation.
He was talking to tens of thousands of people in Zahedan’s biggest Friday gathering on April 7, 2023.
The president of Darululoom Zahedan said: “As governments work to build people’s lives, they should also make efforts to improve the spiritual affairs of the nation. Many countries have developed in the industry and became economic hub. These countries are fighting to remove poverty and unemployment, and their people are employed and enjoy safe live.”
“Though the people of Iran have the biggest resources in economics and livelihoods, today they are going through the most difficult days and endure many misfortunes. We were not successful to solve people’s problems in different grounds. For progress, Iran has much potential. During 44 years, our country could turn into an economic hub, but the government missed opportunities. We could have the best industry,” said the Iranian top Sunni leader.
“We had to compete with the countries of the region and the value of our money should have been arisen; this is the management and planning. The livelihood status of people should have been gone up than it was in the previous regime. Our country has agriculture, mines, ports, oceans and other facilities. The geographical location of Iran shows its strategic and exceptional position. The people of Iran are the biggest capital and asset; the state should have planned to use them in proper ways. In economics, today we have shocking reports,” Shaikh Abdol-Hamid added.
Criticizing the country’s economic situation, the Friday Imam of Zahedan said: “The economic situation is critical in Iran. People sell goods cheap today, and buy them more expensive the next day. Marketers do not know what to do. When the market and economy are not stable, it will damage. Many programs were disrupted due to high prices. This is a big problem. The people of villages and suburb areas say we have nothing to eat for Iftar/breakfast in Ramadan. Two days ago, some tribal elders came to me and one of their demands was to improve people economy. We receive shocking reports from villages. In cities, people cannot afford to pay money for rents of houses. The government has a duty to manage.”
He questioned: “How long should this condition continue?”
The Iranian top Baloch Sunni cleric referred to spiritual problems in the country and said: “Unfortunately, there are moral and spiritual problems in the country. As the state claimed to have an Islamic system, they could not implement justice in the manner of the holy prophet, peace be upon him. The state could not plan properly to improve the faith and morality of people. Governments have not engaged capable people to manage the affairs.”
“When the affairs are not in the hands of the strong proper people, we face such crises. Our country needs strong and trusted people, not those who fill their pockets and just make their lives. Those who are at the head of affairs should know that the country cannot move forward with these managers. Miracles will not occur. Remove this thought away from your mind. We live in the real world. There is no news from the sky. Hand is your hand. You should think of this issue and take decisive actions,” said the Iranian Sunnis’ leader in his Friday sermons.

Sectarianism has reached a dead-end\ Get the country out of the deadlock
Mawlana Abdol-Hamid believed that the problems would not be resolved until the authorities do not talk to the people and do not give up to their will. He said: “Sit with the people and talk to them; this is the best way. I am your benevolent. Release political prisoners, including men and women. Find out the best solution. Call all Iranians from the world to build the country. Only capable people should run the country, not weak authorities.”
“The sectarianism faced a deadlock. Get the country out of the dead-end. You have to change your look. In the republic systems, people and Islam are considered important. People are pivot and their views are vital. Use their opinion. Use the capable people whether they are Muslims or non-Muslims. Get out the country from material and spiritual crises. Spiritual problems have roots in the bad governance and political problems,” said the president of Darululoom Zahedan.

Some insult women in the name of moral police
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid continued his Friday speech, saying: “When people are in poverty and suffer from economic problems, how they can endure? Today the issue of hijab is one of the country’s concerns. Some women do not wear full hijab, because they are angry. Actually, women are deprived of their equal and due rights. Some people are insulting women in the name of moral police or forbidding the evil. Prisoners complain of mistreatment and torture. This is a big mistake. In protests, women were killed because of the hijab issue; women are upset from such behaviors.”
“However, we recommend women to wear hijab. Wearing hijab is one of the cultures of the East lands, part of Iranian customs, and it is the order of Islam. Officials must think of this. See all issues. Just do not look at why the women are taking out their scarves, but see how women are under pressure,” he added more.

Peaceful protest is a legal right/ servant of the nation respects them
The eminent Iranian Sunni cleric went on to continue his speech, saying: “Those who participated in legal protests should not have been arrested or detained. If you claim to respect the law, you should accept it at all. More than 500 people were killed in recent protests in Iran. If you murdered those who took weapon against you, this has been your right. However, someone who carried only a flag and placard, no one had the right to kill him\her. These are the people of Iran, and the owners of this land. If you talk of the law, you must respect this nation’s demands and leave them to protest peacefully. When these people have legal rights, do not treat them with ironic hands.”
“Tolerate these people. As a well-wisher, I would like to address the scholars, authorities, and leaders of the country to tolerate people. These are the people of Iran and your benefactors. The majority of people believe that problems are not resolved in the current situation. Sit with the nation and take wise measures. Do not imprison them. Those who recommended the referendum, they see this situation. See what the majority of people want,” said the Friday prayer leader of Sunnis in Zahedan.
He added more: “If you want to have a dynamic economy, you should give up the will of people.”
“The value of our national currency should return and the position of our people in the world should be restored. It is vital to have a good relationship with countries and nations of the world, but to bring a big internal change in domestic affairs is more valuable. We need to make a strong relationship with our own nation,” Mawlana Abdol-Hamid said.

Harassment of Baloch people for identity document is a political issue
Pointing to the problem of the national identity document in Iranian Balochistan, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid stated that the problem of identity cards and documents must be solved. All ethnics are historic nations in Iran. Throughout history, Baluch people have protected this land and fought against invaders and aggressive nations.”
“History of birth certificates is not long in Iran. People have lived here and gone to Afghanistan or Pakistan during drought. Many have never gone, but they still have no identity documents. The issue of birth certificate is not a real problem in Balochistan, but there are political motives behind it. Many Iranian people live in these cities, and they are deprived of citizen services and their children are deprived of education. This is the biggest problem in the province,” the president of Darululoom Zahedan said.
“In recent days, some were arrested due to identity documents problem. This is the demand of the people to solve this problem soon,” he added.

We support fair peace in the Palestinian issue
Referring to the recent attacks of Israeli forces on worshippers of al-Aqsa Mosque, the most influential Iranian Sunni leader said: “Footage has been released that the Israeli forces attacks the al-Aqsa mosque and the worshipers. Such extreme action is convicted whether it is in any mosque in the world. This is an invasion of God’s house, and we hope that these problems are resolved. We hope that the Palestinian people will get their due rights.”
“When we talk about an agreement, we consider a fair agreement. Is there anyone in the world to oppose a fair agreement? Some have criticized why you speak about peace. I said that we want just and fair peace. I did not say an absolute peace. In the case of Palestine, there are some elements that are more catholic than the pope!” said Imam of the Grand Makki Mosque of Zahedan.
“The Palestinians are satisfied with their rights and they must have an independent state. Ukrainian people want peace and fair agreement too. We say Russia and Ukraine should agree. Conditions are providing for China. The Chinese must enter and bring this war to a fair agreement, and get the reputation in the world,” Shaikh Abdol-Hamid concluded his points.
