We Face Tragedies Due to Neglecting Qur’an

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid urged on imitation of the Qur’an and mentioned ‘gap between Muslims and the Qur’an’ the main reason of their tragedies and crises.

Talking to thousands of worshippers in Zahedan, Iran, on Friday 25th Sep. 2015, he began his sermon by reciting the noble verses of the Qur’an: «إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا الذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُ لَحَافِظُونَ» and «يا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ قَدْ جَاءتْكُم مَّوْعِظَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَشِفَاء لِّمَا فِي الصُّدُورِ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةٌ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ» and said, “Nowadays, the Muslim society faces many problems and tragedies, and the reason is neglecting the Qur’an. All Muslims including men and women, Ulama and Huffadh, teachers and youth have been away from the Qur’an. A big part of our problems, droughts and defeats are due to leaving the Qur’an behind.”
“Take the example of an author; if any author sees his books are read, it makes him very happy. Otherwise, it is bad and sad news for him that his books are not welcomed by readers. The book of the Almighty also should be recited and learnt.”
Shaikh pointed out to the story of Mawlana Rumi in Arafat desert and said, “Mawlana Rumi used to recite the Noble Qur’an a lot in Arafat desert; when people supplicate and ask Allah in Du’a, He gives more and better to the reciters of His book.”
He said more, “Reciting the Noble Qur’an is the best and biggest remembrance of the Almighty. Qur’an is guidance, mercy and light for the hearts. Many people do not know the Qur’an but few verses and small chapters; still they keep reciting those parts of the Qur’an. Reciting the first chapter, Fatiha, is like reciting the whole Qur’an in reward.”
Khateeb and Friday imam of Zahedan called on the audience to recite the Qur’an always and do not forget sending peace and prayer to the prophet, peace be upon him.

Development in the religion & worldly life without knowledge is impossible
In another part of his sermon, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid alluded to the start of new academic year in Iran and said, “Knowledge, education and edification are the best blessings of the Almighty. The development in the religion and worldly life is unimaginable and impossible without education and knowledge.
He addressed the audience and underlined, “Welcome the divine gift of knowledge warmly. Do not allow your children to add in the number of dropouts. Support them in education and resist against fall of education in the region all together. There must be at least a doctor and expert in each home.”

Mina stampede was a big damage
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid expressed his deep regret on the Mina incident on Eid day where hundreds of pilgrims lost their lives and many were injured.
He said, “The incident took place in Mina was a serious and big loss. It made us sad and sorrowful. Many of the martyrs were our countrymen.
“The incident shows that the organizers of Hajj and Saudi authorities should plan with more focus and attention; they must be vigilant,” the rector of Darululoom Zahedan, Iran, urged.
