Muslims Need Unity, Tolerance, Foresight

The outstanding Iranian Sunni scholar called on Muslims to comprehend the conditions of the world and show tolerance and foresight.

He was talking to tens of thousands worshippers in Zahedan, Iran, on Thursday 24th Sep. 2015 on Eid al-Adha day.
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid urged, “We must comprehend the situation in the world; conditions are not same always. There was a time the West was leading a cold war against Communism and Muslims were used in that war, too. Now the Western experts and think tanks see Islam as a threat to their interests.”
“While Islam is the religion of peace and friendship; it has no combat with anyone but occupiers and arrogant elements. This religion fights only with those who deny logic and dialogue. The Last Messenger of Allah and his companions confronted aggressors and arrogant groups”, he added more.
The rector of Darululoom Zahedan alluded to the reasons behind enmity of the West with Islam and said, “The enemies of Islam see this religion in the opposite direction of their inner temptations. Thus they are afraid of Islam and its widespread acceptance by men and women. They boost Islamophobia to get people away from Islam.”

The conditions are not normal
Expressing his views on the current circumstances of the world, Shaikh Isma’eelzahi said, “The conditions of today’s world are not normal. Nowadays, the enemies want to uproot Muslims by their own hands. Thus Muslims should be vigilant and live together with foresight, unity and peace. Shia and Sunni Muslims must tolerate each other and show a vast chest. People should not be divided into particular sects.”
Mawlana Abdol-Hamid alluded to the cultural assault of the West on Muslim society and said, “The anti-Islam elements struggle to assault on Muslim by cultural weapons which are more dangerous than military attack. They want to mislead Muslims and make them slaves of inner self and misdeeds. Regretfully, there are different kinds of crudities in the society such as drinking vine, bad hijab and addiction.”
“The enemies want to spread immorality and boost sectarian disputes among Muslims to weaken them. Thus all of us should work hard to terminate disputes not to create more divisions and disputes.”

Sunnis in Tehran expect to have a grand Masjid
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid alluded to the inauguration of the biggest mosque in Moscow in the presence of the Russian president and some other leaders and said, “The biggest grand Masjid of Muslims has been inaugurated in Moscow lately. 170 million dollar has been spent for its rebuilding and now more than 20.000 worshipers can offer prayers in it. There are 7.000 mosques in Russia according to the Russian president. They were fighting against Islam a day and forcing people to break their fasts. After facing defeats, they have realized they were wrong.
He added more, “Shia and Sunni Ulama must comprehend the situation well and forget the past; they must not neglect the changes of the modern era. We expect the Iranian authorities will allow Sunnis to establish such a Masjid in Tehran. Sunnis must have more freedom; there is still pressure on Sunni citizens in some regions.”
The member of the Supreme Council of Muslim World League called on the Iranian government to focus more on the rights of ethnic and religious communities of Iran. Participating Sunnis in the management of the country will strengthen peace in Iran. There must be more steps in this regard.

Eid Adha is the ceremony of submission and imitation of Allah
In the first part of his speech before tens of thousands worshipers on Eid day, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said, “Eid Adha is a divine gift to Muslims and its message is submission and imitation of the Almighty. This is the day of the grand Hajj for us.”
He alluded to the difference between Eid of Muslims and religious holidays of other nations, saying, “Muslims do not celebrate Eid only on the basis of sagacity and comparison; rather their Eids have been legitimated by the orders of the prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, and they should be celebrated according to his directions. Unlike other nations who dance, drink and commit other misdeeds on their religious holidays, Muslims celebrate Eid with prayers, remembrance of Allah and supplication to Him.”
“Muslims cannot add anything new to their religion; they just follow the directions and teachings of Allah and His last messenger. We are proud to be followers of Allah and His last messenger in our religion. Submission before Allah is the message of Eid al-Adha.”
In another part of his sermon, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid alluded to the divine tests of the prophet Ibrahim and said, “Imitation of the Almighty makes everything easy and bearable for the people. The prophets and companions got a high status at Allah just due to imitation of the Almighty.”
At the end of his speech, he called on the audience to be firm in offering prayers with congregation in Masjid five times a day.
