Baloch Tribal Elder Passes away

Hamidullah Sardarzehi, one of the most influential, educated and popular tribal elders of Iranian Balochistan passed away in Tehran on Sunday evening, 9 Aug. 2020.

According to a report of SunniOnline, the late tribal chief was a resident of Chabahar, a coastal city of Iranian Balochistan. He was admitted in a hospital in Tehran for treatment some weeks ago.

The funeral ceremony of Hamidullah Sardarzehi was held in Chabahar today where thousands of people took part in his funeral prayers.

Many political, religious, social and official figures have expressed their concerns and sorrow over the incident.

Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid, president of Darululoom Zahedan and the most influential Iranian Sunni leader said in his condolence message: “Hamidullah Sardarzehi was an influential, thoughtful, educated and compassionate leader. He was a reformist who had a great influence and popularity among the various Baloch tribes inside and outside of the country. His death is a big loss in the region.”

“The news of the death of Sardar Hamidullah Sardarzehi, an influential figure in the region, caused me a great and deep regret,” he emphasized.

Mufti Muhammad Qasem Qasemi, the senior teacher of Hadith and Fiqh in Darululoom Zahedan also sent a message of condolence over the passing of Hamidullah Sardarzehi.

Mufti Qasemi said in his message: “The loss of the great personalities who consider serving their community as their mission, concerns everyone”.

The Iranian Grand Mufti continued: “Mr. Hamidullah Sardarzehi was a national figure, humble, popular, political and social activist, a well-wisher and a benevolent”.

The current and ex-governors of Sistan-Balochistan, representative of the Supreme Leader in the province, the spokesman of the Iranian government, the MPs and dozens of intellectuals issued condolence messages and expressed their sympathy with the family and relatives of the late.
