Report: 23rd Graduation Ceremony of Darululoom Zahedan

The annual graduation ceremony of Darululoom Zahedan was held on Thursday 29 May, 2014 in the ex-Mosalla (Eidgah) of Sunnis, near of Darululoom Zahedan’s main campus.

“SunniOnline” reported tens of thousands Sunni citizens from different backgrounds took part in the 23rd graduation ceremony of Darululoom Zahedan. Although the ceremony was started on Thursday morning  officially, but due to huge presence of the devotees of the Qur’an, organizers of the gathering arranged some programs for the participants.

First session of the ceremony
The first session of the 23rd graduation ceremony began its activities on morning by the recitation of the Noble Qur’an. Then “Molawi Masood Sayyid” presented his speech on the behalf of Darululoom Zahedan’s graduates of 1435 (2014). His topic was “Islamic awakening; challenges and solutions”.

In the first session some prominent Sunni Ulama, MPs, officials and social activists talked to the audience of the 23rd graduation ceremony of Darululoom Zahedan.

Mawlana Muhammad Karim Saleh, an activist of Tabligh and preaching Islam, asked the graduates to maintain the mission of late Mawlana Ahmad, may Allah have mercy on him, next to Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid.

After the speeches of “Arbabi”, a MP from Iranshahr district, and “Jamshidnejad”, social and political assistant of governor Sistan-Baluchistan, Shaikh Haidar Kameli presented his sermon. The rector of the Islamic seminary of Khonj was representing Sunnis of Hormozgan, Fars and Bushehr provinces.

He said an Alim (Islamic scholar) is like the sun as he shows the way to people. “Seeing this gathering, I am optimistic about the future of the Muslim nation,” Shaikh Kameli pointed.

Mufti of Sunnis in Gilan province and head of a Madrasah in Talesh district was one of the chief guests of the 23rd graduation ceremony of Darululoom Zahedan. He said, “We, Sunnis, love and respect the households of the prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, because we are Sunnis! Households (Ahl-ul-Bait) are among the Companions and we love all them certainly.”

Dr. Jalil Rahimi Jahanabadi, professor at Mashhad University and assistant professor in Kabul University, expressed his deep happiness over his presence in the graduation ceremony of Darululoom Zahedan which is the largest gathering of Sunnis in Iran.

“I feel as I breathe inside the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah. Methinks I smell the perfume of the presence of the beloved prophet and his companions in this gathering. Shaikh-ul-Islam has a broad chest and he wants the betterment of all regardless to their sect, religion and country,” he pointed more.

The prominent Iranian Sunni intellectual stated, “We think strong nations make their countries strong. Iran can be strong when all Iranians are strong; nobody should seek his ‘power’ in others’ ‘weakness’. Others’ weakness cannot be power for anyone.”

Editor-in-chief of Daily Zahedan, Dr. Muhammad Taqi Rakhshani, also talked to the audience of the 23rd graduation ceremony of Darululoom Zahedan. He said, “The leader has clearly termed the tongue which creates Shia-Sunni disputes ‘Satanic’. He issued fatwa in favor of the Companions and wives of the prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. Both Shia and Sunni extremists kept silent over the statements of the supreme leader.”

The Shia reformist worker urged, “We are so lucky to have a great man inside our province whom we owe our breaths. He [Shaikh Abdol-Hamid] is honor for all.”

At the end of the first session of the ceremony, 24 male memorizers, 10 female memorizers of the Noble Qur’an and 6 Ulama who got specialization in Tajweed were awarded.

Final session
The second and final session of the 23rd graduation ceremony of Darululoom Zahedan was started after Asr prayers on May 20, 2014.

The first lecturer was Mufti Muhammad Qasem Qasemi, Hadith professor at Darululoom Zahedan. He reminded the participants of the annual gathering the importance of daily prayers asking them to not neglect the most important command of Islam after accepting it.

The written message of eminent Kurd Islamic scholar, Kaak Hassan Amini, was read by his representative, Kaak Omar, as the Mufti of Sunnis in the western Iran could not take part in the ceremony.

Dr. Jalal Jalalizadeh, a prominent Sunni activist and university professor in Tehran, presented his speech on ‘effects of worships on human rights’. He said, “Allah Almighty has created us for His worship; worship is a comprehensive term which can include many acts we carry out daily.

The former representative of Sanandaj in the Majlis (Parliament) thanked the organizers of the ceremony specially Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid.

Finally, the rector of Darululoom Zahedan came to the stage and talked on different issues before more than 100 thousand Sunni citizens.

The 23rd graduation ceremony was transmitted live; most programs were broadcasted by some satellite TV channels in their live coverage.

After the speech of Shaikh Abdol-Hamid, 281 graduates of Darululoom Zahedan (145 male and 136 female graduates) were honored as they got the ranks of ‘Molawi’ and ‘Fadhelah’.  Shaikh Abdol-Hamid concluded the ceremony by his supplication before Ishaa prayers
