After recitation of the Quranic verse:وَكَذَلِكَ جَعَلْنَـكُمْ أُمَّةً وَسَطًا لِّتَكُونُواْ شُهَدَآءَ عَلَى النَّاسِ وَيَكُونَ الرَّسُولُ عَلَيْكُمْ شَهِيدا
“Thus We have made you (true Muslims ـ real believers of Islamic Monotheism, true followers of Prophet Muhammad and his Sunnah (legal ways), a Wasat (just and the best) nation, that you be witnesses over mankind and the Messenger (Muhammad) be a witness over you.” Imam and khateeb of Makki Masjid said, “Islam is the best and the most honored path which leads people straight to Almighty Allah, neither excess exists here nor decrease can take place in the Islamic teachings, all the sayings of holy prophet صلی اللہ علیه وسلم based on “wasat” which means the best way and the most honored one as Allah Almighty has commanded the believers to avoid observing injustice with every one, whether a friend or an enemy; As Allah Almighty says:
وَلاَ يَجْرِمَنَّكُمْ شَنَآنُ قَوْمٍ عَلَى أَلاَّ تَعْدِلُواْ اعْدِلُواْ هُوَ أَقْرَبُ لِلتَّقْوَى
“And let not the enmity and hatred of others make you avoid justice. Be just, that is nearer to Taqwa.” Since observing justice is nearer to Taqwa (piety), every one is commanded to do it in his life, a father should do it with his children, husband with his wife, in short all of us must be moderate in his activities, as there is a hadeeth, when the companions of prophet صلی اللہ علیه وسلم were not taking off their Ihram in the event of “Sulh Hodaibiah” so holy prophet (PBUH) had consultation with his wife Ummul Momineen Umme Salma رضی اللہ عنها she consulted him to shave his head first then slaughter his “Bodna” (an animal which is sacrificed in Hajj & Umra) then holy prophet (PBUH) did what she said to him thus all of them were compelled to do it. In short the life of holy prophet (PBUH) is completely a perfect example for us.”
Sheikh said more, “Being far a way from the rules and regulations of Islam causes the path which is totally against of Islam, dictatorship is not allowed in Islam; according to the Islamic teachings a father must know the will of his daughter then finalize her engagement, likewise an imam of any masjid should take care of the public who offer their prayers in the leading of him, but when they cross the limits and treat their subordinate as they are his slave so the system of life gets damaged defectively. Since a leader of nation becomes dictator and while making decisions he does not take the confidence of them the nation also goes on the separate ways and does not value to his decisions, thus a fine society gets affected very badly.”
‘Dictatorship has no place in Islam, unfortunately most of the Muslim communities have been suffering from dictatorship, these dictators have changed the rules into their interests,’ the prominent scholar added.
He further said that gentlemanliness and independence of a person are the most important things, as well as justice is for every one as Qadhi Shoraih decided in a case in favor of a Jewish against Ali bin Abitalibرضی اللہ عنه , the caliph of Muslims.
Sheikh Abdul Hameed indicated towards the Arab uprising and said that masses are sick of dictators and “single party” rule in their countries, so do not want to stop protests despite hundreds of causalities.
The venerable khateeb of Sunnis urged, “As Shiite can build a worship place in Sunni-majority areas, Sunnis also should have this right to establish mosques where they want and conduct their obligatory independently, Christians, Jews and all the followers of religions have been given the rights of observing religious obligatory, doing such activities does not damage any thing of Shia community, rather it would increase fraternity between Sunnis and Shia communities.”
At the end, the eminent Sunni scholar condemned the disgrace incident of holy Qur’an in a church in Florida state of the US and added more, “The clergyman who insulted and burnt holy Qur’an should be admitted in any mental hospital, there is no any word against any religions and divine books in the Holy Qur’an. I appreciate the Afghan nation for their admirable reaction and demonstration over this event.”
