‘No Sense of Slogans for Unity without Religious Freedom’

‘No Sense of Slogans for Unity without Religious Freedom’
molana_22Talking to tens of thousands of worshipers gathered in grand Makki mosque, the eminent Sunni leader Shaikh Abdul Hameed indicated towards the recent discriminatory events against the Iranian Sunni community in Tehran and said, “We always prefer to have unity amongst the whole Iranian nation, but unless our governments including Shia community don’t adopt such nice teachings in their practical lives I am sure just chanting slogans for unity and brotherhood go in vain; its our need to be united, other wise we lose our power, if the regime stops chanting for unity any day, we will not do, we will call to unity always and it is not a state policy rather it is our belief.

Shaikh added more that a great struggle is being practiced in the world to assure the rights of all religions, sects, as well as the minorities. In the same way we hope the Sunnis would possess their basic rights in the major cities of Iran also, the regime claims to be religious and Islamic, the rulers must help facilitate offering prayers for Sunnis; if they don’t allow to build a mosque in the major cities so at least Sunnis mustn’t be stopped to practice their religious activities in ranted houses or their own properties, we hope the responsible authorities of Iran to realize patriotism, loyalty and don’t seal the places where Sunnis offer prayers.
Shaikh asked the authorities that which kind of damage will influence the Iranian government if Sunnis offer prayers in their homes or ranted houses? We had hoped that both Sunnis & Shias would practice their duties peacefully, but unfortunately it is totally against of what was promised in the beginning.
Shaikh surprisingly asked that there are many churches, synagogues and religious places for other religions in the capital city Tehran, as well as in Esfahan and other big cities of Iran, which is their legal right; is not an injustice that some minorities have been permitted to build their religious places whereas Sunnis are not allowed to offer prayers in congregations in the ranted houses? In fact Sunnis are twenty in hundred of the population, they must not be counted in the menu of other minorities; it is their right to be permitted for offering prayers with congregation in their houses.
Pointing towards the efforts of Sunni community in maintaining peace, the prominent Sunni scholar said, “The government must realize hard works of Sunni scholars and tribal chiefs as well; because there are many difficulties which were diverted by Sunni scholars and tribal elders, we want to see this region progressed in peaceful condition, similarly they should be treated with good rewards, so that they will be able to practice their educational and religious services independently.
Shaikh expressed dissatisfaction regarding Sunnis’ representatives, members of the Iranian parliament, as they are sitting quite, he asked them to report such pressures which are being practiced on Sunni community, and they should sacrifice their facilities for the sake of Islam and the whole Sunni community who cast their votes for them.
Shaikh declared such cruel treatment beneficial for the enemies of Iran as they are waiting to abolish the unity and harmony of Iran. The government must keep in their mind that Sunnis are not only few scholars rather they contain scholars, tribal elders, and the public all of them are concerned due to mentioned above problems.

Changing of the nations’ condition:

Reciting the Quranic verse:
إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُغَيِّرُ مَا بِقَوْمٍ حَتَّى يُغَيِّرُوا مَا بِأَنْفُسِهِمْ
(Allah will not change the (good) condition of a people as long as they do not change their state (of goodness) themselves); the great Sunni leader pointed out the ways by which the condition of a nation is changed.
Shaikh said that Allah almighty gifts some one property, status, wealth, ruling over a country and many other blessings, Almighty Allah neither wants to snatch these blessings with out any reason nor it suits him to do it, similarly there is an other divine law that:
لَئِنْ شَكَرْتُمْ لَأَزِيدَنَّكُمْ وَلَئِنْ كَفَرْتُمْ إِنَّ عَذَابِي لَشَدِيدٌ
(When your Lord proclaimed: “If you give thanks, I will give you more; but if you are thankless, verily, my punishment is indeed severe.)
It means when a nation becomes thankless for the blessings given them by God so they don’t deserve it to have for more time, the history of past nations proved that spiritual or materialistic blessings were snatched from them because they were thankless to their God.

Specialty of the era of prophet’s companions (RA):

The time of Sahaba (prophet’s companionsرضی اللہ عنهم) was a very distinguished time indeed that they were very thankful to their God, they worshiped Him nicely, then they were rewarded also with ruling over the vast land, as a great part of this world was under their power, but as soon as Sahaba (RA) passed away, after them other kings came to rule over such territories, they went far away from the Quranic & Prophet hood teachings and didn’t thank to their God so they faced many problems and fought with each other, their power was used against each Islamic state, thus non Muslim came over Islamic territories and defeated Muslims, certainly they were punished due to their own deeds.

Maintenance of regimes is guaranteed by good deeds:

‘Today many rulers in the Middle East depend on the Western powers to remain in power. But they can not abide before masses’ power. If ‘Hosni Mubarak was a loyal president, his nation would never reject him, but he did not solve their problems, in fact the nation didn’t make mistake rather they fulfilled their duties, whereas the rulers were failures,’ Khateeb of the Sunnis added.
‘Most of the times rulers think that their government can be strengthened if they serve the European rulers, they should know that every thing is in the hand of Allah almighty, e.g. the family of “Shah” was ruling over the entire Iran, they considered that Iran is their property, but now where is “Shah” and where is his government, as he was examined in past similarly the present rulers are also tested by God almighty, rather each and every one is tested. If we practice a good deed and remain thankful to God almighty, verily Allah almighty will never take back His blessings from us, rather He increases such blessings,’ Shaikh concluded.
