Hussein Sacrificed for Justice not Power, Shaikh A.Hameed

Hussein Sacrificed for Justice not Power, Shaikh A.Hameed
molana_12The Holy prophet’s companions put up a great example of sacrifices, Shaikh Abdul Hameed said in Grand Makki mosque of Zahedan.
After reciting the Quranic verse:
(And (strive hard in Allah’s cause as you ought to strive. He has chosen you, and has not laid upon you in religion any hardship: it is the religion of your father Ibrahim. He has named you Muslims both before and in this [Qur’an] that the Messenger may be a witness over you and you be witnesses over mankind! So, perform the Salah, give the Zakah and hold fast to Allah. He is your Mawla, what an Excellent Mawla and what an Excellent Helper!), the imam and khateeb of Makki mosque Shaikh Abdul Hameed pointed out the great sacrifices of Sahaba (Allah be pleased with them), and encouraged the audience to follow the way which was adopted by Sahaba (RA), because they are ideals for all the believers to follow them in their practical life, as they practically showed that the main secret of releasing Islam is to sacrifice all the things just for the sake of Allah almighty, the Islamic history witnesses that the great followers of the Prophet Muhammad (peace & blessing be upon him) sacrificed their wealth, lives and sons; in short all the property of them was utilized in the path of Allah almighty.

Kinds of Jihad (hard working):
Pointing towards two kinds of Jihad (1- Jihad with wealth, 2- Jihad with soul) the head of Sunni community recited the verse of Quran:
“الَّذِينَ آَمَنُوا وَهَاجَرُوا وَجَاهَدُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ بِأَمْوَالِهِمْ وَأَنْفُسِهِمْ أَعْظَمُ دَرَجَةً عِنْدَ اللَّهِ وَأُولَئِكَ هُمُ الْفَائِزُونَ” (Those who believed (in the Oneness of Allâh – Islamic Monotheism) and emigrated and strove hard and fought in Allah’s Cause with their wealth and their lives are far higher in degree with Allah. They are the successful.), and continued that it is said by most of the Mufassireen, that this Quranic verse was brought to praise the prophet’s companions, as all the time they were restricted to do hard and only for the progress of Allah’s sayings, they did their supreme efforts whatever they could do, that is why they were certified by God almighty “رضی اللہ عنهم ورضوا عنه ذلک الفوزالعظیم” (Allah is pleased with them and they with Him. That is the great success).
Sheik continued saying that our holy prophet (PBUH) including his companions did not miss a single opportunity to do jihad in the path of Allah almighty with both the ways, with their wealth as well as souls, certainly holy prophet صلی اللہ علیه وسلم migrated from Makkah, he sought protection into cave of Thawr (which is called “Ghar-e-Thawr”) in order to save themselves from the enemies of Islam, there is no doubt that leaving all the properties in Makkah and migration from the beloved place is much difficult, in fact they did not take care of such temporary things, rather they sacrificed a lot utilizing all the possible ways to protect the apostle of Allah almighty as well as the Islam religion from the attacks of non-Muslims, surely none can bring an example of them after their departure from this world.
Describing some of the sacrifices of the prophet’s companions Shaikh Abdul Hameed said, “Even though having nothing enough for eating, wearing and living the khandaq (trench) was built by Sahaba (RA) around the city of Madina to fight the combined army of Mushrikeen and pagans. The trench prevented the strong army of 24,000 of the infidels to enter the city to fight against around 3,000 Muslims, pointing towards this famous event Allah almighty says: “وإذ زاغت الأبصار وبلغت القلوب الحناجر” (When they came upon you from above you and from below you, and when the eyes grew wild and the hearts reached to the throats, and you were harboring doubts about Allâh.); similarly Muslims were too less in the battle of “Badr”; they were only 313 persons, rather than Mushrikeen having all the kinds of war instruments were about 1000 fighters, likewise the most difficult battle of Zat-ul-Raqaa (غزوۃ ذات الرقاع) as its name also points to the difficulties of this battle, because the companions had nothing to wear, they had different pieces of clothes to fold on their feet, thus this battle is called the “battle of pieces of cloths”.
Whenever they were demanded to donate, happily they accepted it.”
Respected Shaikh added more, “Certainly great Hussein bin Aliرضی اللہ عنهما was born in the mentioned above blessed atmosphere, his father is the lion of Allah, his mother is the chief of the women of paradise, his forefather is the last apostle of Allah almightyصلی اللہ علیه وسلم, certainly holy prophetصلی اللہ علیه وسلم declared them two heads of the youngsters of paradise. Undoubtedly Hassan & Hussein رضی اللہ عنهما including other members of the family of prophet used to support Islam religion; they defended Islamic ideologies with both the ways: doing Jihad with wealth and with soul. It was Hassanرضی اللہ عنه who proved the saying of holy prophet PBUH: “إن ابني هذا سيد ولعل الله أن يصلح به بين فئتين عظيمتين من المسلمين” (this son [pointing to Hassan {RA} of mine is a chief, it is hoped that through him Allah almighty would make peace between two great parts of Muslims), as the pages of history witness that Syed Hassan (RA) preferred to keep him self far a way from being caliph and happily agreed to transfer this great integrity to Muaawia bin Abu Sofyan رضی اللہ عنهما who is the great companion of the holy prophet (PBUH), in fact at that time Syed Hassan (RA) was leading a great part of the Muslim territories”.
Shaikh said more: “if both the sacrifices of these two brothers رضی اللہ عنهما were compared so there is not a huge difference with each other; because gifting a wide government to some one is not an easy task, still non can bring such a great example, then after doing reconciliation both the brothers lived very comfortable, during the caliphate of Muaawia (RA) they did not realize a single thing against Islamic rules, but after him when his son Yazeed was transferred the government, in fact he was not capable the caliphate so Syed Hussein (RA) realized that now it is not the time to sit quite, particularly when some leading elements of Koofa ensured him that they shall do ba’iat on his hand and the Koofa was the capital of Islamic caliphate in the days of Syed Ali (RA), but before Hussain (RA) the governor from Yazeed was sent to get control of Koofa, after doing it he killed the assistant of Syed Hussain (RA), he took the baiat (oath) from the inhabitants of Koofa, after coming of Hussein (RAF) to Koofa they denied to follow him, but rather they joined the army of Yazeed against Hussein (RA), they demanded from Hussein (RA) to surrender and allow them to arrest him, but Syed Hussein (RA) did not accept it and said: “We are very far a way from such kinds of being degrades.
Shaikh continued saying, “It is very amazing that Syed Hussein (RA) was their Imam and he was leading them in prayers, but they deceived him very badly and did not let him go back to Madina because of fear of Yazeed, thus they helped the cruel army and helped the Yazeed army to assassinate Syed Hussein (RA) in Karbala. Certainly those who coveted the status of this world and therefore they killed Syed Hussein (RA), they did not see any goodness neither here nor Hereafter, the killers of Syed Hussein have become notorious in the history and they indulged in different kinds of disgraces.”

Lessens must be learned from the event of Karbala:
(1) Many people do crimes just to get wealth, power or to fetch a status in the court of any king, history witnesses that any one did it so he had faced nothing just disgraces and besides being hated by Allah almighty, every one hated such people.
(2) Great people always remain ready to sacrifice, they neither accept to be degraded nor to live under the cruel government.
At the end of his speech Shaikh Abdul Hameed said, “It is a part of our believes to love Syed Hussein including the other members of Ahl e Bait رضی اللہ عنهم, and just having claim of loving them is not enough, rather we must intend to adopt their manners and the way of their life.
Then Shaikh requested the Shia community that while doing their religious activities they should respect the sacred of Ahl-us-Sunna as well as take care of the respect of other prophet’s companions too.
