Mawlana Abdol Hamid:

All involved parties should seek an “immediate ceasefire” and a “just resolution”

All involved parties should seek an “immediate ceasefire” and a “just resolution”

Shaikh ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol Hamid, today (October 18th , 2024), during the Friday prayer in Zahedan, expressed sorrow over the “worsening crisis in the Middle East” and called on the conflicting sides to pursue a “just resolution” and “immediate ceasefire.”

The Middle East is in a highly critical and exceptional situation
According to the Office of the Sunni Friday Imam of Zahedan, Mawlana Abdol Hamid stated: “Unfortunately, the Middle East is currently in a highly critical and exceptional situation. Rarely in history has the Middle east been so threatened by such widespread and engulfing war.”
He added: “The most advanced and dangerous weapons produced by humans have been brought into the region. Even major powers have introduced nuclear weapons, which pose a grave threat. All countries and governments have produced weapons for their defense, but if these weapons are used, it will lead to very serious problems.”

The current conditions demand all parties consider an “immediate ceasefire”
A “just resolution to the Palestinian issue” will bring lasting peace and security to the region
Continuing his sermon, Mawlana Abdol Hamid remarked: “With some of the leaders of Hamas and Hezbollah having been martyred, the region’s situation has become even more critical. The current conditions demand that all international organizations, the global community, and the major regional powers work toward the release of prisoners on both sides and the establishment of an immediate ceasefire.”
He emphasized: “Everyone should work towards a just solution and peace in the region, especially between the Palestinian people and the Israeli sides. The Palestinian issue has persisted for over seventy years, causing widespread conflict and insecurity. Therefore, a just resolution, the return of occupied lands to the Palestinians, and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital will bring lasting peace and security to the region.”

The warring sides must control their emotions and avoid escalating the conflict
Mawlana Abdol Hamid urged: “We call on all parties, groups, and factions in the region not to fuel the current fire of war and not to escalate it. Instead, everyone should strive for a ceasefire and a just resolution. The radical slogans and rhetoric against each other that have been used in the past by any of the warring sides are inappropriate. Everyone must control their emotions and call for justice, fairness, and an immediate ceasefire.”
He continued: “We also have a request for our own country’s officials. Recent events have proven that the region’s problems cannot be resolved through war. Instead, they require wisdom and tact. All the countries in the region and the global community, especially those who support Israel or the Palestinians, should seek justice, fairness, and peace. The continuation of this war, and its further escalation, will exceed the region’s capacity and create even bigger problems.”
He noted: “Every situation has its own policies and requirements; we must always consider the changing circumstances and the emergence of crises, or else everyone will suffer.”

Rapid “policy changes” and “addressing people’s problems” are crucial for “national unity and security”
In another part of his Friday sermon, Mawlana Abdol Hamid turned to the internal issues of the country and remarked: “Living conditions for the people have become extremely difficult. My advice to Mr. Pezeshkian and all officials of the system is that the rapid change of policies and addressing the people’s problems are crucial and vital. Gaining the people’s satisfaction is essential for national unity and security.”
He added: “The demands of the Iranian nation, such as implementing justice, eliminating discrimination, ensuring necessary freedoms, and enforcing the Constitution, need to be met. The country needs unity and solidarity, and this unity and solidarity can only be achieved through serious steps by the government and officials.”

The Pezeshkian administration must be given the authority for real change
The Friday Imam of Zahedan continued by stating: “The Pezeshkian administration must be granted full authority. If the government is expected to achieve anything, it cannot proceed cautiously; it needs the powers necessary to bring about serious change.”
He added: “The country’s economic situation is worsening daily, and people are under severe economic pressure. Teachers, retirees, workers, nurses, employees, and various groups are raising their voices. Therefore, the economic situation must improve so the people can find peace. These are the demands of the entire Iranian nation, and we must all understand the people of Iran and their needs.”
