Iranian Sunni Clerics Detained in Kurdistan & Balochistan

According to local reports, Mamousta Loqman Amini, Imam of Chaharyar-Nabi Mosque of Sanandaj, and Mamousta Ebrahim Karimi, both from Iranian Kurdistan, and Mawlana Abdol-Majeed Moradzehi from Zahedan, Balochistan, were detained by the security forces on Monday 29, Jan 2023.
Like many other Sunni scholars, these three popular scholars supported the oppressed people of Iran amid recent nationwide protests. They have been supporting Shaikh Abdol-Hamid, the most influential Iranian Sunni leader, in his all stances on the current issues.
Mawlana Abdol-Majeed was surrounded by the intelligence forces on the way home and taken to detention center in Zahedan.
Shaikh Moradzehi, the advisor to Shaikh Abdol-Hamid, is a famous social and political activist who active on media in recent months after the Bloody Friday of Zahedan. He is the owner of Farouq Azam publication, and author and publisher of dozens of Islamic books and articles in different subjects.
Some other Kurd scholars have also been detained or summoned to court recently.
Reports suggest dozens of teenagers and youth have been arrested in Zahedan in the last four months after the tragic incident of Zahedan took place on 30 Sep. which left about 100 dead.
