‘All Iranians, Members of One Big Family’

‘All Iranians, Members of One Big Family’

Four months after Zahedan’s Bloody Friday incident, the most influential Iranian Sunni leader referred to the solidarity and unity among all Iranians and urged for freedoms and justice. He said: “This solidarity is unprecedented in the history of Iran. Actually, Iranians are members of one family; this family is a big family.”
“The solidarity of Iranians inside and outside the country is commendable. The unity, love, and national solidarity will protect the territorial integrity of our country. We are sure that with this national unity, no enemy can covet to occupy or assault our land,” Mawlana Abdol-Hamid said in the Friday sermon of Jan. 27, 2023 in Zahedan, southeastern Iran.
Talking to the worshipers before the Friday prayers in the Grand Makki Mosque of Zahedan, the most influential Iranian Sunni leader said: “Today the people of Iran hear each other’s voices and defend their oppressed compatriots; wherever they are in the world. Nowadays, Iranians pursue the demands of the 1979 revolution. In 1979, people stood against tyranny and oppression, and fought for freedom, justice, and equality. They wanted to achieve their demands and absolute rights. On that time, people used to say: Iran’s capital should not be spent abroad.”
“Today people are suffering from poverty, injustice, and inequality; these fundamental demands should be fulfilled, and the problems must be solved,” said the president of Darululoom Zahedan in his Friday sermons.

Why the national currency has fallen so much?
Referring to the drastic decline in the value of Iran’s national currency, the Iranian top Sunni cleric said: “Today, one dollar has reached 45 thousand Tomans. 45 million Tomans equal $1000. A few months ago, ten million Tomans were equal to $1000. People write letters that how should we live? Some cannot afford to buy an egg comb or a chicken. There are families who do not even have the money to buy bread. Why did our country reach such a dead end? That is why people are worried and are crying.”
“A country that has treasures, blessings and mine and can help other countries and nations, why should be caught in such a situation? Freedom of expression and justice is the right of Iranian people. They have the right to choose capable people to run the country’s affairs. Iranian people want their country to compete with developed and rich countries. This is the right of the nation to determine its own destiny. The nation that made a revolution in 1979 must get what it deserves,” said the prominent Iranian Baloch political leader.

Maintain the respect of scholars
The most outstanding Iranian Sunni leader continued his Friday speech of Zahedan by saying: “The Iranian nation deserves pity and mercy. This nation is one of the good nations in the world. The demands of the Iranian people must be taken into consideration. Today, the people of Iran share sadness and happiness with each other.”
“Mawlana Muhammad Hussein Gorgij, the senior teacher of interpretation of the holy Qur’an, is from the same Iranian family. He faces problems today and has been banned from leading the Friday prayers, public speeches and activities in social media. This is the demand of the people of Iran that the respect of scholars and intellectuals must be preserved. If the scholars of Kurdistan or anywhere else face problems, it is a concern for everyone,” he added more.
The president of Darululoom Zahedan continued: “Pressures should be removed from Sunni scholars, including from Mamosta Saifullah Hosseini and Mamousta Khedhrnejad, two prominent Kurdish clerics.”

Iranian people think about peace
“Today, the people of Iran think about peace and believe that the authorities should make fundamental changes in foreign policies. De-escalation in foreign policies, and peace is the demand of the Iranian people,” said the Iranian Sunni leader.
The Friday prayer leader of Sunnis in Zahedan referred to the bad war situation in Yemen, saying that peace and security must be established for Yemenis. Shaikh Abdol-Hamid called on for an inclusive government in Yemen that respects the rights of all.
He emphasized on the formation of an independent government for Palestinian people who have been enduring so many cruelties for decades. He said that Israel should withdraw its troops from the Palestinian occupied land and the Palestinians should have an independent recognized state.
Mawlana Abdol-Hamid also believed that the war in Ukraine and Russia should end.

We are against execution anywhere in the world
Imam of the Grand Makki Mosque of Zahedan called Iranians as messengers of peace and reconciliation and emphasized: “Iranian people do not want execution anywhere in the world, neither in China nor anywhere else. Punish those who commit crimes in other ways than by hanging them. Some objected to me why I do not criticize Saudi Arabia. It does not matter to me to criticize any country or ruler; Saudi Arabia should not execute its own people either.”
“If we imitate the lives of the righteous caliphs, we will realize that at the beginning of Islam, there was no execution, but retribution in few cases, and it was very little. Executions were very few in the era of the holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. We are well-wishers to all. We say that the Iranian people want the authorities to remove the death penalty laws. Retribution is a religious right and the world accepts it,” said Mawlana Abdol-Hamid.
“Our people do not agree with execution, and all these people are the owners of this country. In these executions, families who lose their guardians or loved ones are very sad and worried. The people of Iran believe in dialogue and negotiation; sit with them and resolve their problems through talks, regardless of ethnicity, religion, creed, and orientation. Today, Iranians do not think of religion and belief, but think about being Iranian,” the prominent Iranian Baloch scholar said.

The international community should help the people of Afghanistan
Regarding the bad cold situation in Afghanistan, the Iranian top Sunni leader noted: “Today, the Afghan people are facing a cold weather that has been unprecedented in the last few decades. Livestock, agricultural, and human losses in Afghanistan have been very heavy. Today, Afghanistan is facing problems and poverty because it does not have diplomatic relations with the international community. It is fair that the international community helps the people of Afghanistan and establishes diplomatic relations with the governing body.”
Mawlana Abdol-Hamid added: “The problems that the world has with the Afghan government can be solved. We hope that the issues of human rights and the issue of women’s rights, women’s and girls’ education, and the employment of women, can be solved. Scholars of the Islamic world can play an effective role after establishing these diplomatic ties. As Muslims, we insist on human rights and believe that the Islamic laws are very close to human rights. We also believe that women should be educated and engaged in official positions as men. Scholars of the Islamic world are trying to solve Afghan problems. If this relationship is established, the people of Afghanistan will be rescued from this situation.”

Do not make a mistake! Blasphemous is not freedom of speech
Expressing his regret over blaspheming the holy Qur’an in the Netherlands and Sweden, the president of Darululoom Zahedan said: “Last week, a very dangerous tragedy and heartbreaking incident happened in the countries of Sweden and the Netherlands. Some set the copies of the Qur’an on fire and burnt it. This incident was very dangerous. Such an action is a battle against God and testing His wrath. This sinister action is an insult to about two billion Muslims in the world. This is not freedom. If it’s freedom, such a freedom cannot be understood; insulting the sanctities of other nations is not freedom.”
“Just as no one can blaspheme the Prophet Jesus, the Torah, and the Bible, no one can also blaspheme the Qur’an, which is the most sacred divine book. These acts provoke the extremists of people and if the extremists take actions, some say that they are terrorists. We all condemn terrorism, but the fight should be with the cause and the root of the problem, not only with the effects. Today, we march in condemnation of this heinous act in the street,” said the Iranian top Sunni cleric.

No government sponsors the Grand Makki Mosque of Zahedan
Imam of the Grand Makki Mosque of Zahedan, the biggest Sunni mosque in Iran with 32,000 meter square infrastructure, said: “We did not receive any financial support from any country or government to build this mosque. Even we have not spent here from the treasury of our country. This mosque has been built with the help of different classes of our own people, including workers, traders, employees, women, and even widows. In order to complete the final phase of works of this mosque, we ask the dear people to help us with financial supports.”
