Sovereignty of the System not Based on Weapons & Military Power

Amid nationwide anti-government protests in Iran, the Iranian top Sunni leader insisted the need to bring fundamental changes in country’s foreign and domestic policies rather than the detention and execution of the opponents. Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said the sovereignty of the system is in the pleasure of people, not weapons and military and nuclear power.
He was talking to the people of Zahedan, the capital city of Sistan-Balochistan in the presence of thousands of worshippers before the Friday prayers on June 6, 2023.
Believing that governments are somehow representatives of Allah and the people, the Friday prayer leader of Sunnis in Zahedan insisted that all rulers should be kind to people.
“A ruler must always be awake and take care of the situation of the people. This is Allah’s representation. Almighty Allah does not oppress anyone even as much as the husk of a date-stone. A ruler must be so in justice. As much as parents are kind to their children, rulers should be so kind to the people. According to Allah’s vision, a ruler should give people freedom, tolerate them, and ignore their errors and mistakes. The holy Prophet, peace be upon him, had been tolerating his people and ignoring their mistakes,” said the president of Darululoom Zahedan in his Friday sermons.
“Today, some take compulsory confessions from people. Such treatments are contrary to the constitution of the country and against the teachings of Islam. Governments should serve people, not torture them. The ruler has no right to arrogance. A ruler who treats people with compassion and humility is the representative of Allah Almighty. No ruler on the earth has absolute authority,” said the top Sunni cleric of Zahedan, provincial capital of Iranian Balochistan.
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid continued: “People have been protesting in the country for more than three months and they have been arrested. They came to the streets because of economic problems, not because of the provocation of foreign powers. People from different walks including journalists, writers, politicians, and religious communities have equal rights.”

After three months of imprisoning experience dialogue
Mawlana Abdol-Hamid underlined: “After three months of imprisoning people, now it is time to talk and negotiate with them and fulfill their demands”.
“The nation has pain and problems. We are benevolent and compassionate, not the enemy. See what people want? Instead of issuing severe punishments such as execution and imprisonment, hear their voices. They are the people of Iran and have problems. Imprisoning and issuing severe sentences against children, and young men and women will not solve any problem,” said the most prominent Sunni scholar of Iran.

The people of Zahedan are worried about the recent arrests
The Friday Imam of Zahedan criticized the authorities because of recent arrests in Zahedan and said: “In the last week, many young people in Zahedan have been arrested. We the people of Zahedan are upset about this. We hope our people will be freed. Putting pressures on people will not resolve problems. We are benevolent. Fight with the cause and the root of the problem, not with fruits. Ask people why they have come to the streets? Solve their problems and meet their demands.”
“All governments of the world should be kind to their people. Today, the people of Iran have reached to a dead end. You should change your foreign and domestic policies according to the needs of the people and the country,” said Imam of the Grand Makki mosque of Zahedan.

No law in Iran is the divine revelation
“The rules of the past 40 years have basic problems. Many laws, especially execution laws, do not match the law of Islam. Iran belongs to everyone. To improve the economy, you must change the policies. People are not your enemy, but there are disagreements between the nation and the state. These disagreements must be resolved by taking wise measures and with foresight,” said the eminent Iranian Baloch leader.
Mawlana Abdol-Hamid addressed the officials and said: “Iranians are among the best nations in the world. The Lord’s satisfaction is in people’s satisfaction. Today all Iranians including religious and non-religious citizens are dissatisfied. Iran belongs to everyone, not to specific groups of people.”
He added more: “The fall of our national currency has created a bad situation. The authorities must think about this. I am sure that if policies are changed, one million Tooman will worth $ 1.000, and living and economic problems will be solved soon.”
The Iranian Sunni leader believed: “In order to bring changes, consult with different strata of people including with professionals, elites, and scholars and respect their opinion. Laws should change in favor of the people. In the republics, the people themselves are their rulers. In Islamic governments, both Allah and people are rulers, and Allah is satisfied with the consent of the people.”
Flights should have been canceled before the missile was fired
Referring to the firing anniversary of the Ukrainian aircraft, the Iranian top Sunni leader stated: “We believe that in the crash of the Ukrainian plane that was hit by a missile, and 176 people, including experts and students, were killed. It was a big mistake. This was one of the most bitter and painful incidents that shocked all Iranians.”
“Iran had committed a mistake that did not abolish the flights following the missile attack on a foreign power. Everyone knew that when you shoot the missile, there was a possibility of firing from the other side. Wait for a reaction, although, when you attack the weakest country. You should have been honest with people; if you were so, they would not have been suing you in Canada and European countries,” the most influential Iranian Sunni leader expressed his opinions.
“I am sure that if you told the truth to the people, they would convince and did not complain in Europe. I said to Mr. Raisi that I wondered when the officials did not admit their mistake to solve the issue. We do not know what happened, but we know that the authorities have been mistaken, and they should have apologized,” said Shaikh Abdol-Hamid in a part of his Friday speech of Zahedan.

Judges of Zahedan’ Bloody Friday are under pressure
The president of Darululoom Zahedan referred to the bloody Friday of Zahedan, and said: “What happened to us on the bloody Friday is still not understandable, because Iranians are kind to their compatriots. Still, the authorities have not been able to condemn the opposite side and say that the slain people were oppressed. We have not been able to calm down our people. The court has been set up, and we have gained information that the judges have been facing pressure in this regard.”
“Martyrs and the wounded are Iranians. The Iranian people are patient and courageous. Some want to attribute these protests to the West and the United States. What Americans want from your people? If you support the nation, they will not resort to foreign countries,” he said.
“Implement justice, so people become convinced. With this, the state will maintain powerful”, said the Friday Imam of Zahedan.

Banning Ulama from travel is against freedom
The top Baloch cleric of Zahedan expressed his regret over the ban on Mawlana Motahhari, a prominent Sunni cleric of Khaaf and his accompanying delegation who wanted to travel to Zahedan in order to express their condolences with people of Balochistan, but the security officials stopped them before entering the province of Sistan-Balochistan and returned them home.
He said: “If officials behave narrow-mindedly, they themselves will suffer and people will be in trouble, too. This country belongs to all Iranians; there is no need of passport for traveling inside the country. Do not ban Sunni personalities to visit each other’s cities. These obstacles are against the freedom.”
Expressing his sympathy with the people of Javanrud and Semirom, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said: “We pray for all the people who are in trouble and especially for the people of Javanrud in Kermanshah and Semirom in Esfahan.”
“The people of these cities have been under severe pressures. I recommend that the authorities should not allow anyone to put pressure on the people of Iran and release the detainees. To solve the problems, there should be grounds to listen to people and meet their demands,” said Mawlana Abdol-Hamid in his last points.
