If our Rulers Follow Example of Caliph Omar

The beginning of the Islamic year reminds us of the Caliph Omar, an example of justice and generosity, in two ways. The first one is that the Caliph Omar, may Allah be pleased with him, wrote the Islamic history with the emigration of the Prophet Mohammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and his companions from Makkah to Madinah. The second one is that he was martyred in such days after ruling a just, fair and benevolent administration that benefited the entire world, especially the people of Iran.
Omar al-Farooq, may Allah be pleased with him, used to fulfill the demands, complaints and basic needs of the people during his caliphate. Omar’s such dealing and treatment with people shows his justice and high vision. When some people of Kufah complained about Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas to the Caliph Omar, he dismissed Sa’d and appointed Ammar in his place, despite the fact that Sa’d was acquitted of all charges.
The story of the Caliph Omar in his dealing with the governors and their removal is famous in history books.
Today, if the Muslim rulers imitate the example of Omar, may Allah be pleased with him, in fulfilling the rightful demands of their people and take care of their complaints, instead of suppressing critics and complainers, and neglecting and ignoring them, the Islamic world would be free from crises, seditions, and divisions. Then, Muslims will not be humiliated more and the Islamic world would not go from a war to another that is more destructive and harmful.
