New Academic Year of Darululoom Zahedan Begins

After three months of vacation, Islamic schools and seminaries of the Sunni community in the province of Sistan-Balochistan, including Darululoom Zahedan, reopened on Wednesday May 25, 2022.
Referring to the beginning of the new academic year of Sunni seminaries in Iranian Balochistan, the opening ceremony of Sahih al-Bukhari was held at Darululoom Zahedan in the Grand Makki Mosque.
Students and teachers of Darululoom were present at this meeting. Darululoom Zahedan is the biggest Islamic seminary of the Iranian Sunni community with more than one thousand students in the main campus and hundreds male and female students in its branches.
Explaining the first Hadith of “Al-Jame’ al-Sahih al-Bukhari”, president of Darululoom Zahedan referred to the importance of sincerity in the path of knowledge and science.
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid mentioned sincerity as one-third of the religion.
As the first Hadith of Sahih al-Bukhari discusses the issue of migration, the eminent Hadith teacher of Darululoom Zahedan noted: “Emigration is one of the best acts of worship that forgives sins, so it must be done for God.”
Insisting on piety and sincerity in seeking knowledge, the Friday prayer leader of Sunnis in Zahedan said: “We should only seek knowledge for the sake of Allah Almighty, not for fame, getting posts and other material purposes. The real students and learners seek knowledge only for Allah regardless of any material interests. They serve science and knowledge sincerely until the last moments of life.”
The most outstanding Iranian Sunni scholar emphasized on the importance of purification and self-reformation and said: “Self-purification elevates the degree of the person in the world and makes him pious. Science is the inheritance of the prophets. Scholars are the true heirs of the prophets; they inherit knowledge and piety from the prophets. Science is vital and important. If there is no science in society, ignorance will prevail”.
President of Darululoom Zahedan described the scientific mission as the first duty of Ulama and Islamic scholars by saying: “All scholars should choose the service of knowledge and religion as their first and main duty, because no honor is higher than education and no occupation is better than serving science and knowledge. Ulama should not change their jobs because Allah Almighty does not like the scholars to leave scientific services for money and wealth. Students who drop out from school and collect money are hatred”.
“Scholars should be thankful to Allah Almighty for the blessings of science and knowledge; they must be engaged in teaching and promoting the science with sincerity by considering it as their first and main duty. Serving science, religion and the community should be the first and main duty of scholars as it was the mission of the previous and righteous Ulama”, said Shaikh Abdol-Hamid.
He mentioned the noble Qur’an as the biggest achievement of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and noted: “The holy Qur’an is the book of guidance and is the biggest achievement of the Prophet Muhammad PBUH. As Muslims, we should make effective efforts to promote and practice it in our lives.”
