Shaikh Abdol-Hamid in the Friday sermons of Zahedan:

Afghanistan retakes its fate, dignity after 20 years resistance

Afghanistan retakes its fate, dignity after 20 years resistance

Following the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan after 20 years of war and destruction, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid the prominent Sunni scholar of Iran expressed his happiness that the people of Afghanistan are determining their destiny and forming an independent and free government after a long resistance against the occupiers.

Delivering his Friday sermon in Zahedan’s grand Musalla on Sep. 3, 2021, Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid said: “The victory of the Afghan people over the US forces was a historic and decisive event”.
The Friday prayer leader of Sunnis in Zahedan referred to the withdrawal of the US occupiers from Afghanistan and said: “Some people are worried about the withdrawal of Americans and other foreign troops from Afghanistan; I believe such people have a mentality of slavery”.

“If the people of Afghanistan and other nations suffer from hunger in their homes, struggle with hardships and wear old clothes, but decide for their own destiny; this is better for them than to own the capitals and treasuries of the Europe and other rich countries”, said the president of Darululoom Zahedan.
He said: “Human being is dignified and respected; this dignity is sustained when people can decide their own destiny.”

Imam of the grand Makki mosque of Zahedan continued: “Those whose destiny is decided by others will never be dignified. It’s very important to be free and independent. Allah has created human beings free and He doesn’t like those who have the temperament of slavery”.

Referring to the 20-year the US occupation of Afghanistan, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said: “Afghanistan has been ruled by others for 20 years, now this nation determines its own destiny by expelling foreign troops. When the people of Afghanistan can freely decide their own destiny, that day is the crucial and historic day of Afghanistan”.
The Iranian Sunnis’ leader added: “It’s surprising that some Afghans are unhappy with the current situation in Afghanistan and they are leaving their country; they shouldn’t leave their country but work together to develop and rebuild it”.

Afghans shouldn’t be incited by political losers
Alluding to the propaganda of political losers in order to create an atmosphere of insecurity in Afghanistan, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said: “Unfortunately, some political losers who ruled Afghanistan for 20 years and have now failed, provoke the people in the name of resistance or other titles to destroy Afghanistan. They don’t allow the people of Afghanistan to live in peace and work together to build their country.”
The Friday prayer leader of Sunnis in Zahedan said: “As a well-wisher I advise the Afghan people not to be incited by political losers. Let the new government that is coming to power in the name of the Qur’an, Sunnah and teachings of the Guided Caliphs, have a chance to address your demands. Ignore the propaganda of those who don’t accept the Qur’anic and Islamic laws.”
“The best rules in the world are the divine and Islamic rules; all sects and religions of the world acknowledge this fact”, said the prominent Sunni scholar of Sistan-Balochistan.

The new government of Afghanistan should consider the conditions of the modern age in religious subjects
Addressing the Taliban and the new government of Afghanistan, president of Darululoom Zahedan said: “I’d like to advise the Taliban and the new government of Afghanistan to make the laws according to the conditions and requirements of the present age by using the capacities of the Qur’an, Sunnah and the righteous caliphs. Islam respects the rights of all, including the rights of women and ethnic and religious communities”.
“The new government must be inclusive so that it can include the elites of all ethnic groups in the government”, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid urged.
Emphasizing on women’s rights, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said: “Women’s rights must be respected in Afghanistan.”
Addressing the Taliban, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said that they mustn’t allow any activity in their country which is called ‘terrorism’ by the international community, because it would provoke a foreign reaction preventing the country from progress and development.
“In order to create jobs in Afghanistan and to build and develop this country, the future government should take serious steps in different grounds; in physical and material fields, as well in scientific and spiritual fields”, he underlined.

The concept of women’s freedom in “nudity” is the biggest oppression against women
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid further addressed the women’s rights by saying: “Women can engage in social activities in accordance with the Islamic laws and customs.”
Referring to some propaganda about the observance of women’s rights in Afghanistan, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said: “Recently, some have raised the issue of women’s rights in Afghanistan, while in Islam women have been given complete rights and freedoms. Women can get higher education in universities and work in society by wearing hijab and observing Islamic customs”.
“No government is allowed to prevent women from education and learning science”, he believed.
“Some people imagine that women’s rights and freedoms are in nudity, while this is the biggest oppression that the Western society has committed against women”, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid pointed.
“The beauty of a woman is in wearing her body and clothes; it is a mistake that some people think that a woman’s beauty is in her nudity. Wearing the body is in the nature of human beings”, said the Friday prayer leader of Sunnis in Zahedan.
Mawlana Abdol-Hamid said that all religions had recommended and emphasized on wearing the body. “Of course, dress is not limited to specific clothes, but everyone can wear clothes according to his/her own culture to cover his/her body”, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said.
President of Darululoom Zahedan stressed on the importance of following the views of the righteous Imams in juridical subjects especially the views of Imam Abu Hanifah, may Allah have mercy on him, and said: “I’d like to recommend you to follow the Qur’an, Sunnah, the Righteous Caliphs and Imam Abu Hanifah and other Imams and religious elders in women’s affairs.”
On the issue of governance, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid believed that the views of Imam Abu Hanifah were more moderate and easier to be followed.

President Raisi’s visit to Sistan-Balochistan may change the views towards this province
In the final part of his speech, the Friday Imam of Zahedan referred to the President Raisi’s visit to Sistan-Balochistan and said: “We thank the president Raisi for his paying attention to this province. After his first provincial trip to Khuzestan, he traveled to Sistan and Balochistan”.
“I hope that the president Raisi’s visit to Sistan-Balochistan will change the views of officials on this province. The security views should be removed from Sistan-Balochistan and the economic and commercial views should be replaced”.
“Changing the views towards Sistan-Balochistan will develop this province and ensure its durable security”, he believed.
President of Darululoom Zahedan said in his last points: “In order to get rid of the current problems, the new government should use the elites of religious and ethnic communities that are the assets of the country. The potentials and talents of Sistan-Balochistan should be used in high positions.”
