Shaikh Abdol-Hamid in the Friday prayer ceremony of Zahedan:

Ramadan, the Month of Patience & Struggle

Ramadan, the Month of Patience & Struggle

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid described the holy month of Ramadan as the month of struggle and patience in his Friday speech of April 30, 2021 and stressed on more financial and physical worships in the last ten days of this month.
Talking to tens of thousands of Sunni worshipers in Zahedan, Iran, the Friday prayer leader of Zahedan said: “It is the Sunnah of Allah that He tests His servants. No one enters the Paradise by only claiming to be a Muslim, but Allah tests His servants to clarify who has patience in the way of Him”.
Stating that “Jihad” has a common and broad meaning, Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid pointed out: “Fighting against aggressors and occupiers is a kind of jihad. Almsgiving, fasting, repentance, asking Allah for forgiveness, reciting the Holy Qur’an, remembering Allah, praying and trying for purification of the soul and for reforming the society are also parts of jihad”.
President of Darululoom Zahedan continued: “Allah has stated financial and physical jihad in the Qur’an and in many verses, He has mentioned financial jihad before the physical jihad that shows the importance of donating on the path of Allah”.
Considering fasting as a kind of Mujahadah/struggle, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid said: “Ramadan is the month of patience and Mujahadah. The one who does not have patience cannot observe fast, wake up at night and strive in the way of Allah.”
He said: “Ramadan is the month of worship, remembrance, recitation, charity, prayer and patience”.
“Be patient in the way of Allah because whoever is patient, God will help him/her and give him/her the reward for worship”, Shaikh urged.
“It is stated in the hadith that in the last ten days of Ramadan, the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, used to worship more seriously and called on his children and households to get up and worship Allah. It is clear from the narrations that the Prophet PBUH did not sleep at all in the nights of last ten days of Ramadan”, said the eminent Sunni scholar of Iran.
“During Ramadan, the Prophet PBUH used to add to his worship, prayer, generosity and other good deeds”, said Shaikh Abdol-Hamid.

I’tikaaf is the most important act of the last ten days of Ramadan
President of Darululoom Zahedan called I’tikaaf as one of the most important deeds of the last ten days of Ramadan and noted: “The last ten days of Ramadan are a new season in Ramadan. I’tikaaf is the Sunnah of the Prophet that a person leaves his house and sits in the (mosque) house of Allah”.
He added: “In the last ten days of Ramadan, the Prophet used to perform I’tikaaf in the mosque with a number of companions/Sahabah, and the women of the companions used to perform I’tikaaf at their own homes”.
“It is narrated that once the Prophet did not perform I’tikaaf due to an excuse, but in the following Ramadan he sat in I’tikaaf for twenty days. Therefore, the worship of I’tikaaf is very important; men sit in mosques and women in their homes and places of prayer”.
President of Darululoom Zahedan emphasized for more efforts in the last ten days of Ramadan and said: “It is stated in the hadith that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, used to recite the Qur’an once a year during the month of Ramadan with the angel Jibril al-Amin; one time the Jibril recited and the Prophet listened and once the Prophet recited and Jibril listened, but in the last Ramadan when the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, was alive, Jibril and the Prophet recited the Qur’an twice for each other.”

Take care of the poor, the needy and help seminaries during Ramadan
In the last part of his speech, Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid emphasized on paying Zakah during Ramadan and said: “I advise to pay Zakah of your properties during the Holy month of Ramadan. The more you pay alms of Fitr, the more it brings reward for you. Take care of the poor and needy people who are waiting for your help”.
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid stressed on helping the seminaries and said: “Dear people! Seminaries are waiting for your help and support in this month; help the seminaries of Sistan-Baluchistan; pay more attention and help to a seminary that serves better and more.”
He insisted on helping Darululoom Zahedan by saying: “Brothers and sisters! Have a public participation in helping Darululoom Zahedan, which is a lasting act for you and late Mawlana Abdol-Aziz [the founder of Darululoom Zahedan].”
