Hajj, a Clear Example of Love, Patience and Practice of Shari’ah

Pointing out to the season of Hajj, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid called this worship as a “big pillar of Islam” and an example of love, patience and obedience to the Shari’ah.”

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said in the Friday sermon of July 17, 2020 of Zahedan: “Hajj is one of the most important foundations and pillars of Islam. Hajj is one of the examples of love, patience, perseverance and practice of Shari’ah.”

He added: “Every year, Muslims from different countries of different languages, colors, races and nationalities gather near the house of Allah and in Arafat desert, Mina and Muzdalifah and perform the rituals of Hajj.”

The most influential scholar of Sunnis in Iran emphasized on the necessity of “sincerity” in performing spiritual deeds and said: “It is mentioned in a noble Hadith that Allah the Almighty approaches on the day of Arafah to those who are in the desert of Arafat and are engaged in prayer; He asks the angels that what the people want? The angels answer that they ask your forgiveness and satisfaction”.

“Therefore, sincerity and seeking Allah’s pleasure is the soul and biggest pillar of Hajj “, he added more.

He continued: “Prayers, jihad, fasting, slaughtering the sacrifice, Hajj and all kinds of worships should be for the sake of Allah the Almighty”.

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid pointed to the arrival of the days of Dhul-Hijjah and said that the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah start from the beginning of this month and will continue until the morning of Eid.

He pointed out: “Recitation of the Holy Qur’an, remembrance of Allah, fasting and other kinds of worships have their special value in the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah”.

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid emphasized on fasting in these ten days especially in the day of ‘Arafah (the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah) and believed that it had many rewards and encouraged for more worships in such days.

President of Darululoom Zahedan pointed to the virtue of “sacrifice” and said: “Sacrificing animals is one of the most important and valuable parts of worships that is performed on the tenth day of Dhul-Hijjah (Eid al-Adha).”

“This year, although the price of animals has gone up, but the more expensive it is, the more rewarding it carries”, he said.

“People can buy and sacrifice a cow or a camel together if they can, and those who cannot afford, they can sacrifice a sheep/goat”, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said.

Restrictions of this year’s Hajj unprecedented in the history of Islam
In another part of his speech, while expressing his regret over the restrictions of this year’s Hajj due to the outbreak of COVID 19, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said: “We should cry and wail because this year’s Hajj is going to be performed limitedly due to the outbreak of COVID19, as the Saudi Minister of Hajj announced that this year’s Hajj will be held with the presence of a thousand of worshippers.”

“Alas! There are only a thousand of people in the places where millions of pilgrims used to gather and perform rituals every year during the Hajj. Such a restriction is unprecedented since the time of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, and such an incident had not yet been happened throughout history”, Imam of the Grand Makki Mosque of Zahedan said.

The current situation requires repentance, forgiveness & reconsideration of deeds
At the end of this part of his speech, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid insisted on the necessity of repentance and forgiveness in the current situation and said: “Unfortunately, in the current situation where the society is facing many challenges and calamities, some are still involved in sin, war, conflict and theft.”

He added: “Committing a sin, including killing people and stealing though is forbidden in any situation, but it is more shameful to commit a crime in such days.”

“We should resort to supplication and spiritual deeds in such circumstances and repent to Allah the Almighty. We should fix our shortcomings and weaknesses in worship, correct our deeds and reconsider our actions. We should pray to Allah the Almighty to remove the plagues such as Corona and other calamities”, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said.

Increase value of national currency by changing domestic & foreign policies
Referring to the unprecedented economic crises and devaluation of the national currency in Iran in the second part of his speech, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid believed that the authorities should return the value of the national currency by giving freedom to the people, bringing a deep change in country’s domestic and foreign policies and by limitation of capital punishment.

He said: “The COVID 19 has spread all over the world and it had no impact on the value of the national currency of other countries, but in our country, the Corona virus caused devaluation of the national currency”.

Friday prayer leader of Sunnis in Zahedan continued: “As the Supreme Leader said: “Our economy is sick”, therefore, my advice to the officials is to solve this problem with the pathology”.

“Every problem in the world needs pathology”, said Shaikh Abdol-Hamid.

He added: “Country’s economic problems should be resolved and there should be a fundamental change in foreign and domestic policy”.

“If we build factories and have products all over the country, the currency problem will still not be solved unless we change our policies,” the outstanding scholar of Sunnis in Iran said.

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid called on the authorities to adjust the policy, give more freedom to the people and allow them to criticize.

He pointed out: “There will not be reforms unless there is no criticism. Capital punishment should be stopped but where Allah has given permission in the Holy Qur’an”.

The Iranian Sunnis leader stated: “Execution has a negative effect and the world criticizes us; it also shows its effect on the devaluation of the national currency”

“If there is a change in our policy by giving more legal freedom to the people and by providing opportunities for them to criticize then the value of the national currency will return again”, Imam of the Grand Makki Mosque of Zahedan said.

“As a well-wisher to people and to the country, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said in his last points: “Bringing a huge change in State’s policies, plays a vital role in improving economic crisis in the country”.
