Ml. Abdol-Hamid Calls for Preventive Actions over Flood Damages

Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid called the authorities to take decisive action in hit-flood areas at the Provincial Administrative meeting in Chabahar on Tuesday January 14, 2020 and said: “Flood damages should be recovered and effective measures should be taken in affected zones in order to prevent more damages in the future.”

At the beginning of his speech in the administrative meeting of Sistan & Baluchistan province, the outstanding Iranian Sunni leader welcomed the Speaker of National Assembly, the minister of energy, the provincial governor of Sistan & Baluchistan, the representative of the Supreme Leader and other provincial and national guests.

Mawlana Abdol-Hamid went on to praise Allah the Almighty Who has created us and has given us various blessings, including rains which seem to be an end to famine and drought in the region.

The most influential Iranian Sunni scholar pointed out to the recent heavy rainfall in south Baluchistan which caused critical damages in some areas and said: “Last year’s rain had fewer damages than this year’s rainfall; it shows that our preventive actions had been weakened”.

The Friday Imam of Sunnis in Zahedan said that government should take serious measures to prevent flood damages.

“Using experiences of the local people helps governments to take more effective action to prevent damages”, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid said.

He emphasized on the necessity of pathology over such crises saying: “We should find the main causes of such damages to prevent the crisis and to rescue people from hit-flood losses.”

Mawlana Abdol-Hamid expressed his deep regret over losses suffered by the people of Iranian Baluchistan after the recent destructive flood. Shaikh-ul-Islam called both the administrative authorities and public sides to help the people of flood-hit zones.

According to the latest assessments, roads have been blocked, electricity, mobile phone and drinking water have been shut off in affected zones and reinstatement operation is underway.
