Shaikh Ab. Hamid:

Endowment, One of the Best Kinds of Charities

Endowment, One of the Best Kinds of Charities

Khateeb of Sunnis in Zahedan urged on donating on the path of Allah and encouraged the audience to give importance to the good culture of endowment.
Talking to Sunni worshipers in Zahedan on Feb. 22, 2019, he said: “Endowment has been weak in the society. It has a great reward and it is one of the best kinds of charities. In endowment the wealth remains safe and people benefit from its productions.”
“Endowment cannot be sold or distributed among needy people. Thus endowers always get rewards continuously. Shops, farmlands and trees can be endowed. Endow from the wealth Allah has bestowed to you and save something for your children,” Shaikh Abdol-Hamid underlined.
He called on the audience and said: “Avoid from stinginess and take advantage of your wealth by donating, making endowment and saving for children.”
Prominent Islamic cleric emphasized on supporting charity foundations and said: “Support charity organizations which work for the sake of Allah. Mohsenin Charity Trust of Zahedan (under supervision of Darululoom Zahedan) has helped needy people inside and outside of the province in hard times. They have launched vocational workshops for men and women that is a great work.”

Giving Zakah is the biggest financial worship
In the first part of his speech, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid began his sermon by reciting the initial verses of Baqarah chapter and said: “Zakah has been urged repeatedly in the Qur’an and Hadith. Zakah has been mentioned mostly along with Salah/Namaz in the Qur’an; it means offering prayers is the biggest bodily worship while Zakah is the biggest financial worship.”
“The noble verses of the Qur’an show that apart from paying due taxes as Zakah, people should support and donate on other projects and support needy people such as hungers, poor, travelers and ills,” he said.
Shaikh added more: “We are Muslims and we should not be like some people (the people of Bibles) who said that Allah was needy and they were rich! When Allah Almighty orders, we should donate and support others as much as we can. Donating on the path of Allah is the sign of love with Allah. For the sake of Allah we should sacrifice whatever is in our possession.”
“Human nature loves wealth and money; money is beloved and it should be sacrificed on the way of the real beloved whose love should be more than any other thing and person.”
He rectified a common mistake and said: “Some people think poor people should not donate on others; it is a wrong thought. Because, however Zakah is not obligatory on them, but they should donate according to their ability. There is no any difference of rich and needy people. The prophet PBUH said: “Save yourself from Hell-fire even by giving half a date-fruit in charity.”
“Donation and charity increase wealth while bribery and usury decrease but uproot wealth of people. Wealth of orphans is a fire for your wealth. So give charity as much as you can and you will witness its very good results in your life,” Khateeb of Sunnis said.
