Domestic, Foreign Policies Should be Reviewed as Global Conditions Changed

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid pointed out to changes in the global circumstances in all fields and urged on reviewing and changing internal and foreign policies of the country. He termed changing the policies a need of time and Iranian nation’s demand.

Talking to tens of thousands worshipers in Zahedan on Eid al-Fitr day, 15th June 2018, he said: “The ongoing conditions of the country differ to the conditions of 40 years ago when political elites drafted and approved the constitution. The time is passing quickly and there are new circumstances in the world.”
“Insisting on the strategies and policies of 10 or 20 years ago is incorrect. The Islamic Republic of Iran can advance and get achievements in the world to move in accordance with the global conditions. It is in favor of Iranian nation and state to reorganize policies and strategies according to the new conditions of the world,” he underlined.
Khateeb of Sunnis added more: “The internal and foreign strategies need reviewing and changes; these changes are the need of global circumstances as well as the demand of Iranian nation. Otherwise we will face many difficulties. Our constitution also needs revision.”
“It is regrettable that the current constitution is partly-implemented and in many cases personal views sideline the laws. Some offices and bureaus consider themselves legitimate to violate law and put the constitution under their feet,” he further said.

Ethnic & religious bigotries bring decadence for nations
Mawlana Abdol-Hamid went on to say more: “Ignorant gropingly ethnic and religious bigotries threaten human society; it is one of the challenges which brings decadence for any nation. Fanatic nations are backward nations which cannot reach to development and advancement.”
“Unfortunately, here in our own country we also face ethnic and religious fanaticism which is an obstacle in the development of the Iranian nation. Iran and Iranian nation deserve a higher position, but these bigotries have stopped us,” he added more.
The most influential Iranian Sunni leader said: “Today many of advanced nations have crossed ethnic and religious bigotries’ borders; they think of the principle of citizenship and whole humanity. The developed nations have left issues like offering prayers with open or closed hands and arms behind. In the views of civilized nations, followers of all religions and schools of thought are free to worship Allah according to their faith.”
“We are not legitimate to interfere in individuals’ religious issues. Islamic Shari’ah and the constitution have given freedom in faith and worships to all,” he said,

No one can ban on establishment of people’s prayers
Mawlana Abdol-Hamid alluded to the obstacles created by security forces for offering Eid and Friday prayers in some Iranian metropolises and said: “Still people miss their some legal liberties which have been ensured by the constitution in religious and ideological areas to the Iranian nation. There are individuals and authorities who ban people from offering Eid and Friday prayers. The nation wants removal of these obstacles.”
“People should enjoy their legal rights. In this country no one is authorized to bar people from offering prayers. Preventing worshipers from offering Salah/prayers is against Islam. We are not Takfiri to issue verdict and call anyone disbeliever, but we are suspicious about Islam and faith of those who forbid from prayers. There should not be any fear about offering prayers,” he added more.
President of Darululoom Zahedan said: “Shia and Sunni scholars and seminaries should see the whole world. Today there is a competition about giving liberties and freedom to people and they consider it an indisputable right of them.”
“At least we should have the liberties mentioned clearly in the constitution and Islamic laws. We should provide people their due rights which were given to people by the prophet Mohammad, peace be upon him, and Sayyidana Ali and other guided caliphs, may Allah be pleased with them,” he added more.
At the end of this part of his speech, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid urged on the freedom of speech, faith, worship and politics. He said: “Iranians should have freedom as other people of the world enjoy freedom. Providing freedom makes the country developed and well-famed.”

Narrow-mindness has been a challenge in country
Khateeb of Sunnis went on to say more in the biggest gathering of Sunnis for Eid prayers and said: “The Muslim world has been suffering from various disputes because of short-sightedness and ethnic and religious bigotries. All authorities and offices should extend their views and think globally as the Supreme Leader thinks.”
“Narrow-mindness has been a challenge in the country and the officials should discharge such individuals,” he underlined.
Member of the MWL strongly criticized the passive behavior of authorities about the letter and order of the Supreme Leader regarding Sunnis’ rights and problems.
“Why has the order of the Supreme Leader as the first man of the country not been implemented? However some elements consider it an interim stance, but it is an actual order and the National Security Council should circulate it to all offices,” Mawlana Abdol-Hamid said.
He said there should not be any difference between Shia and Sunni in the country and particular problems of the Sunni community should be resolved.

After 40 years, Sunnis should get their due rights
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid further said: “We believe the case of people’s legal rights should be pursued. The best way to get rights is the legal path. Members of the Majlis, Ulama, tribal chiefs and elites and authorities are supposed to pursue due rights of people.”
“This is the time that higher officials should give Sunnis their due rights after 40 years. Islamic Republic of Iran is about 40 years old and in this age people reach to intellectual maturity; this regime also should reach to maturity by reviewing its policies and strategies,” he added more.
The top Hadith teacher of Darululoom Zahedan called on all Muslim rulers and leaders to take care of minorities’ rights.
“I’d like to ask all Muslim rulers to take care of human rights and the rights of minorities in their countries. Islam urges human rights more than other religions,” he added more.
At the end, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid clarified and said: “Muslim masses and rulers should be vigilant as enemies want to ensure their interests and secure Israel by creating disputes among Muslim countries.”
