Ml. Abdol-Hamid Assassination Plot by Deer Hide Foiled

The office of Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid confirmed the reports released in social media about an assassination attempt foiled recently in Zahedan, provincial capital of Sistan-Baluchistan.
“SunniOnline” interviewed a member of Shaikh Abdol-Hamid’s office and his relatives on the reports.
The person who talked exclusively to “SunniOnline”, the official website of the Sunni community in Iran, has said: “The news of the assassination plot is correct; a deer hide was gifted to Mawlana Abdol-Hamid. While cleansing it, a family member of him got skin rash and hives immediately after touching the hide. She was shifted to a hospital in Zahedan where she could not get full recovery. Then the patient was shifted to Mashhad city for further treatment. Now she is safe and sound completely.”
In response to a question about the reports that the deer hide was poisoned, the unnamed relative of Mawlana Abdol-Hamid said: “There has not been any test on the hide. We cannot claim with certainty that the hide was poisoned.”
“We have no definite evidence to blame anyone for plotting assassination. Thus we thank people and Mawlana’s fans and then ask them to maintain their calmness in order to stop the enemies from misusing such incidents,” he underlined.
Many reports suggest the security officials in Iran have warned Mawlana Abdol-Hamid about the assassination plots recently. Shaikh Abdol-Hamid is the most influential Iranian Sunni leader and president of Darululoom Zahedan, the biggest non-state Islamic seminary of the Sunni community in Iran.
