The national gathering of the Sunni students of Iranian universities to meet their scholars and Ulama has been held at Darululoom Zahedan, the biggest Islamic and cultural institute of the Iranian Sunni community.
The meeting began its works on Thursday morning, 9th March, 2017 in the Grand Makki Masjid inside the main campus of Darululoom Zahedan.

Apart from articles and nasheeds presented by the guest students, Mawlana Mohammad Kareem Saleh, Mawlana Abdol-Majeed Moradzahi, Mufti Mohammad Qasem Qasemi and Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid talked to the audience.
Up to five thousands students from different corners of Iran gather at Darululoom Zahedan each year, mainly in March, to meet their Ulama and revive their spirituality.
Peace, the fruit of temperance
Mawlana Moradzahi, the famous Sunni publisher and author termed ‘sobriety’ the characteristics of Islam and said: “Calling towards sobriety had been one of the most important responsibilities of the prophets, peace be upon all of them.”
“Islam has called the Muslim nation ‘justly balanced’. Even in the case of tenets there must be temperance. The companions of the prophet PBUH were on the moderate way of him. Overall today’s Muslim society believes in moderation, although some extremist groups have gone out of the moderate line,” he added more.
Shaikh Moradzahi urged that peace and salvation of mankind were the fruits of temperance.
Qur’an is a Miracle in all Aspects
Mufti Mohammad Qasem Qasemi, the head of Darul-Iftaa Darululoom Zahedan and the editor-in-chief of Neday Islam magazine also talked to the Iranian Sunni students. His discourse was about the title of the gathering, the Noble Qur’an; the Miracle of the Time & Pivot of Temperance.
He said: “Sane people believe in prophets without witnessing any miracle. Apart from eloquence, the Noble Qur’an is unique in civilization, psychology, science and legislation.”
“Impressing the addressee is the other miracle of the Noble Qur’an. While the best gift of the Qur’an to mankind is tawheed/oneness of the Almighty,” Mufti Qasemi added more.
The senior Hadith teacher of Darululoom Zahedan called on the students and said: “The Noble Qur’an is the miracle of the time; so learn it. You are the guides of human beings. Maintain your relations with the Islamic centers, study the biographies of the good servants of Allah well, know the enemy and avoid from him and bring changes in the society by taking directions from the Qur’an and Sunnah.”
Get specialization in your subject
The first session of the meeting was finished before the moon prayers. Then the students took part in the question and answer meetings, book and magazine exhibition and a round table meeting on the title of the convocation.
In the final session, Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid talked to the Sunni students of Iranian universities, mainly from Sistan-Balochistan, Khorasan and Kurdish-dominated provinces.
Talking to the male and female students, he said: “Allah Almighty wants us to worship Him; a worship that resists with the self and Satan.”
“The Sublime taught Adam all sciences as his offspring could discover and utilize them in accordance with the needs of time and place. Those sciences related to the both material and spiritual lives. Islamic and modern sciences are the needs of our society,” Khateeb of Sunnis underlined.
Advising the students, he said: “I’d like to advise the dear students to study with full energy and work hard to get specialization in the subject they study. The aim from learning all kinds of sciences should be recognition of the Almighty and reaching Him.”
“A collegian should be pious performing the five-time prayers, especially the morning prayers. Islam is a religion that purifies and builds us. It is not against the development of mankind,” the rector of Darululoom Zahedan further said.
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid clearly said: “Who can be more prosperous from the one who has Islam and the world in a time? The Europeans are not the most prosperous nations; rather a nation who has reformed himself by acting upon Shari’ah is the prosperous and advanced nation.”
“I’d like to call on the female students to be vigilant about the hidden and obvious Satan and devils. They want to spread nudity and immorality in the society; while acting on the religion protects modesty and chastity. Don’t cut your relations with the Almighty and His messenger,” he added more.
The most influential Iranian Sunni leader said: “Islamic Republic of Iran is an opportunity. Muslims belong to the One Nation. We deserve more than others to unite. Unity is a unanimous opinion.”
“We do not want to see our country unstable and destabilized. The arrogant powers want to indulge ethnic and religious communities in clashes. The peace of our country should be maintained,” he underlined.
Iran doesn’t belong to any specific sect
Urging on the equal rights of the Iranian Sunni community, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said: “The Sunni community of Iran follows up the case of its due rights by legal and peaceful channels. We believe the door of dialogue is the best way to get due rights.”
“Providing religious freedoms, equal view and implementation of justice are the most important demands of the Iranian Sunni community,” the Iranian Sunni leader stated.
He further said: “Iran doesn’t belong to any particular race or sect, it is for all Iranians. The Sunni community defends the borders of the country and expects the rights of Sunnis would be provided. Islam has recognized the rights and respect of all human beings.”
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid condemned extremism and said: “Unfortunately, some Shia and Sunni Muslims suffer from extremism who do not accept anyone but themselves. While, Islam is the religion of foresight and open chest.”
