Be Ready to Benefit from Ramadan

Alluding to the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid called on Muslims to take the advantages of Ramadan and purify their spirits.

Talking to tens of thousands worshipers in Zahedan, Iran, few days before the holy month of Ramadan on June 3, 2016, he said, “By acting upon the programs of Allah for purification of mankind, we can clean up our souls. Fasting in Ramadan is one of the divine programs for human beings’ reformation.”
“There are some ritual deeds which are necessary and obligatory in Islamic Shari’ah just for the purification and edification of mankind. As the process of human beings’ creation was done gradually, in the same way Allah wanted to purify mankind gradually by the passage of time,” Khateeb of Sunnis in Zahedan added more.
He called on the audience to establish Tarawih prayers in Ramadan and said, “Sunni Muslims believe Tarawih prayers are the Sunnah of the prophet, peace be upon him. Rasoulullah PBUH offered Tarawih prayers for a specific duration and then the Guided Caliphs gathered the companions from various congregations to one congregation. It was continued in the time of Othman bin Affan and Ali bin Abi-Talib, may Allah be pleased with them, and it was agreed upon unanimously.”
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid called on the worshipers to get ready for Ramadan to carry out more worships and good deeds such as offering prayers, reciting the Noble Qur’an, making Du’a and supporting needy and poor people financially.
He said, “It is necessary for us to conclude the whole noble Qur’an during Tarawih prayers in Ramadan. The memorizers of the Qur’an should also recite soberly; reciting fast or so slow is not recommended. During Ramadan unessential trips should be cancelled and postponed for another time.”

Focusing on Sunnis’ Demands Helps Islamic Fraternity, Unity
Expressing his satisfaction with giving membership to a Sunni MP in the Presiding Board of the tenth Majlis of the Iranian parliament, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid termed such positive acts useful for enhancing Islamic unity and brotherhood.
Talking to the Sunni worshipers in Zahedan city of Sistan-Baluchistan, the prominent Islamic scholar said, “In the last Friday gathering we presented an expectation that there must be at least one member in the Presiding Board of the parliament.”
“By the blessings of Allah, that demand has been brought to act and now we are happy there is a Sunni member in the executive board of the Majlis. Appointing a Sunni citizen as the ambassador of Iran to Vietnam and Cambodia as well as choosing a Sunni MP for the Presiding Board are satisfying steps.”
“Although a Sunni observer in the Presiding Board of the Majlis may not have much authority, but such steps help the process of Islamic fraternity and unity. It would leave positive effects not only in the region but in the entire world. If we express our some expectations, it is just for protecting the dignity of the society and enhancing unity and solidarity in the country,” he added more.
Khateeb of Sunnis in Zahedan further said, “We hope such working acts would continue which would make the enemies of Islam disappointed. Those who spread disappointing speeches, they should know pursuit of demands by dialogue is fruitful. The authorities are satisfied with the unity and fraternity rule on the country. Continuance of this process supports demands and expectations to be substantiated.”
He alluded to the statement of president Rouhani among the people of Mahabad, northwestern Iran, and said, “The president has said among the people of Mahabad in Azerbaijan Gharbi province that there must not be any difference between members of ethnic and religious communities. None of ethnic and sectarian communities can consider itself superior to others, but all are equal in Iran and their capable members should be employed.”
The rector of Darululoom Zahedan urged, “Islamic revolution of Iran is said to be an example for other revolutions, thus it is worthy for the country to be example in giving rights to religious, sectarian and ethnic minorities.”
