Creating Obstacles for Sunnis’ Prayers not Acceptable

The outstanding Iranian Sunni leader accounted ‘fanaticism and dispute’ the sign of uncivilized and uneducated nations and called the Iranian authorities to put an end to obstacles on the religious freedoms of the Iranian Sunnis.

He was talking to participants of graduation ceremonies of three seminaries (Shams-ul-Uloom, Haqqaniah and Farooqia) in Iranshahr city of Baluchistan, Iran, on Sunday evening, February 15, 2115.

Mawlana Abdol-Hamid urged on the necessity of Muslims’ awakening against cultural conspiracies of the enemies and said: “All people, especially scholars, intellectuals, academians and educators should be vigilant as the enemy has targeted them; they have been striving to spread their absurd and decadent culture of the West among Muslims.”

He regarded the Western war on the Muslim world as a “cultural war” and pointed out: “Many people think wrongly that the US and the West lead a counter-terrorism war, while it is a mere lie. In fact, they want to fight against Islamic awakening. If the US really wants to uproot terrorism, why it does not stop Israel which is a terrorist state? Westerns are struggling to expend their cultural plots, they want to implement again in the Muslim lands the same guilty cultural situations which their puppet had created in the Muslim world.”

The rector of Darululoom Zahedan emphasized: “Enemies, in fact, want to eliminate Islam which is the biggest obstacle to their carnal desires. Therefore all Muslims should be vigilant and grasp the Qur’an, Seerah of the Prophet and the Companions.”

“The Shia and Sunni communities have some problems in the country, but they should resolve these problems through negotiation and dialogue. Fortunately, the commons which are enough for unity between, Shias and Sunnis are a lot. We must leave the religious differences and beliefs to the pertinent sect,” the Friday Imam of Sunnis in Zahedan added more.

Mawlana Abdol-Hameed termed ‘disputes and fanaticism’ the sign of uncivilized nations, saying: “Only ignorant and the uncivilized nations fight with each other; Shia and Sunni sects must show tolerance for each other. I personally give importance to the lives of all; humanity is important for me. We have always condemned terrorist attacks on our Shia brothers where ever they had taken place.”

Chairman of the Coordination Council of Sunni Seminaries in Sistan-Baluchistan underlined: “Sunnis of Iran should enjoy complete religious freedom wherever they live, whether they are in metropolises or they are in minority in any town. Even if one Shia family lives in a village in Balochistan, I can’t accept limitation in religious rituals for them. As well as we cannot accept that Sunnis face any problem regarding prayer rooms, religious schools, establishing prayers or educating their children in every corner of the country. These are our legal and definite rights.”

“We belong to a civilized and educated nation; fanaticism is the mark of illiterate and ignorant nations. Thus we should not quarrel for religious matters; rather we should have tolerance and foresight. Shia and Sunni scholars must clearly recommend and enjoin their followers to tolerance and foresight,” Khateeb of Sunnis concluded his points in the gathering of Sunni citizens in Iranshahr.
