Islamic Fiqh Society of Iran Holds Meeting

The Islamic Fiqh Society of Iran held its 20th meeting in Zahedan, Iran. The two-day long meeting was held on Jan. 17-18, 2015 in Darululoom Zahedan.

According to “SunniOnline”, the IFS discussed three issues of ‘legal dawn’, ‘kinds of insurance’ and ‘saying mother or sister to wife’ in its latest meeting.

The members of the society agreed to setup the end of dawn on 18 degrees and the time of Azan for Fajr prayers on 15 degrees in every region cautiously.

Also, Sunni Ulama issued fatwa after discussing the issue of divorce by saying ‘mother’ or ‘sister’ to wives that a ‘Talaq-e-Bain’ (irrevocable divorce) will take place if the word is used for divorcing in any region; otherwise divorce will not take place. However Ulama must forbid people from using such words.

According to the final statement of the Islamic Fiqh Society a commission has been organized to conduct professional researches and present the result in the next meeting.

It is noteworthy, most of the member of the society and some prominent Sunni scholars took part in the 20th meeting of the Islamic Fiqh Society, based in the biggest Islamic seminary of Iran’s Sunnis, Darululoom Zahedan.

The scholars mainly belong to Khorasan Razavi, Khorasan Jonoubi, Golestan and Sistan-Baluchistan provinces participated the 20th gathering of the Islamic Fiqh Society.
