Imitation of Sunnah; the Greatest Prosperity

Imitation of Sunnah; the Greatest Prosperity

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid underlined ‘human life can be valuable by remembrance of Allah’, calling on the audience to imitate the footprints of the last prophet, peace be upon him, in all aspects of life to be the most prosperous mankind.

Talking to tens of thousands worshippers in Zahedan on Friday, 13 Dec. 2013, he said, “The Sublime Allah has enjoined people to imitate Him and His prophet, Muhammad, peace be upon him, in the Noble Qur’an. Allah has made His imitation the reason for prosperity. We will receive the mercy of Allah when we follow Him and His messenger. If someone denies following Allah and His messenger, s/he has no worth and value. Allah says He does not love disbelievers.”

Khateeb of Sunnis in Zahedan called ‘imitation of the directions of Shari’ah’ one of the manifest features of any Muslim, saying, “A real Muslim surrenders before the orders of Allah and Sunnah of His prophet, peace & prayers be upon him. There were many good examples for life like the Companions and their followers, but Allah Almighty has chosen His beloved prophet as the best example for us. We should follow his footprints in all corners of life.”

Alluding to some examples, he said, “We must imitate the prophet step by step in his behavior with others, worship, offering prayers, Hajj, attitude, mercy, grace, bravery, and the way of eating, sitting, walking, sleeping and all other aspects of his routine life.”

Worships can be acceptable when they are in accordance with Sunnah. Prayers, Hajj and other rituals must be like the worships of the prophet, peace be upon him, in outward and inward manners. The mother of believers, Sayyidah Ayesha, may Allah be pleased with her, narrated that the prophet, peace be upon him, used to remember Allah every time. It suggests in some places where remembering Allah was not possible by tongue, he used to remember Allah by his heart. This is the thing which makes the life valuable, he added more.

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid urged on the remembrance of Allah and said more, “We must not be neglectful; a good Muslim never forgets his/her Lord. If somebody does so, in fact, he damages his own interests. The entire day and night of a Muslim should pass with the remembrance of Allah. It brings light and glory to the area where people remember Allah; when we enter the city of the prophet, Madinah, we feel this light. Because Madinah was the city where the best Muslims lived and worshipped Allah correctly. In the towns where misdeeds and corruption are common, we feel bad. Sins bring darkness unlike worships and remembering Allah.”

The rector of Darululoom Zahedan termed imitation of the Sunnah a great prosperity, saying, “We should search for the success and prosperity in the life style of the prophet, peace be upon him. First learn the sayings and Sunnah of the prophet by the books of Hadith.”

At the end of this part of his speech, Shaikh Isma’eelzahi called on the audience to get education plus Islam, take part in prayers in congregation especially in the Fajr prayers and bring women for the Friday prayers.

Gov. Must Ignore Pressures of Extremists

In the second part of his sermon, Shaikh Ab. Hamid called on the government of Dr. Hassan Rouhani, Iranian moderate president, to ignore the pressures of the extremist sides over marginalizing the Iranian Sunni community.

Talking to tens of thousands worshippers during the Friday sermon in Zahedan, southeastern Iran, he said, “Some changes in the management of the province, Sistan-Baluchistan, and its capital city have taken place; the new governor, city mayor and provincial director of the Intelligence Ministry have begun their routine activities. All of these three seem to be sane, experienced and knowledgeable; it is a big achievement for the government of ‘hope and discretion’.”

Khateeb of Sunnis expressed his concerns over the role of some pro-regime fanatic elements and said that some people don’t want to see capable Sunni citizens holding offices; these extremist sides put pressure on the government of Mr. Rouhani to not appoint any Sunni citizen for high pots.

“It is very marvelous to see some creatures of the Lord who do not want development of anyone but their fellows in sect, party and community. They cannot bear their rivals. In fact, such groups do not believe in truth and justice but they think they are on the path of Allah; they should know well they are extremists. Fanatic elements always harm Islam and even their own sect more than any other enemy,” Shaikh Isma’eelzahi underlined.

The rector of Darululoom Zahedan further said, “In any part of the world we witness sectarian clashes which are provoked by the fanatic groups and individuals who do not enjoy any broad sight to see all and endure the colorful societies.”

“The correct idea, that is the order of Allah Almighty and His last messenger too, is to have a broad chest and wide sight.”

The chairman of the Coordination Council of Sunni Seminaries in Sistan-Baluchistan added more, “We request the president to ignore any kind of pressure of the fanatic elements. Submission before such narrow-minded people harms fraternity of the Shia and Sunni communities. These are the groups who did not leave any stone unturned to defeat Dr. Hassan Rouhani during election; they opposed Mr. Rouhani because he is a moderate man. These elements do not believe in sobriety and moderation. So we expect the government would ignore their suggestions hence.”

Khateeb of Sunnis in Zahedan said, “The supreme leader is requested to support the new government in order to enable it to fulfill its promises. The new government has promised to remove all sorts of discriminations and provide the ethnic and religious communities their due rights. If the leader ensures his support, the fanatic elements would fail in their goal as they want to remove the Sunni community –the second largest community in Iran after Shias- from participating in the fate of their motherland.”

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid urged on equality on the high level of the country. He said it is justice that ensures unity, national solidarity, security and peace of the country. When rulers implement justice regardless to the tenets and sect of the people, they would get the unseen supports of Allah Almighty plus His pleasure.
