Tehran: A Sunni Cleric Sent to Jail

The judiciary officials of Iran have detained “Kaak Hashem Hussein-Panahi”, a prominent Sunni scholar of the Iranian Kurdistan in Tehran.

“SunniOnline” quoted “Islam Kurd”, the portal of Maktab-e-Qur’an Movement in Kurdistan, Kaak Hashem Hussein-Panahi was summoned by a special court for clerics in Tehran last Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013. He was detained in the court and sent to infamous Evin prison, Section 325 on the same day.

The detained Kurdish leader is a teacher at “Imam Bukhari Seminary” in Sanandaj, Kurdistan, member of the premier council of the Maktab-e-Qur’an Movement and one of the active undertakers of Kaak Hassan Amini’s office, chairman of MQMK.

According to the reports, thanks to his religious efforts, Kaak Hussein-Panahi was arrested by the Intelligence authorities of Kurdistan last year, 2012-09-03, without any elucidation. He remained in their custody for a month.

He was summoned by the Special Court for Clerics in Tehran in Sep. 10, 2013 where he was sentenced to 30 lashings and six months in prison.
