Iran’s Sunni students take part in annual convention

ZAHEDAN- Hundreds of Sunni students of universities took part in their annual national convention inside Grand Makki Masjid of Zahedan, southeast Iran, on Thursday March 7, 2013.

About five thousand students of different universities of Iran reached Zahedan to benefit various sections of their annual national gathering at the Darululoom Zahedan’s main campus, next to the biggest grand Masjid of the Sunni community in Iran.

According to SunniOnline’s reporter, the convention was kicked off on Thursday morning officially in presence of some professors and lecturers of universities and their students.

In this gathering different items and programs were presented; the guests benefited from speeches, Islamic nasheeds (songs), question-answer section, book fair and exhibition of journals.

The final session of the meeting was begun after sunset prayers at night. The convention concluded its activities by discourse of the rector of Darululoom Zahedan, Shaikh-ul-Islam Abdol-Hameed, and his sincere prays.

It is noteworthy that the management of the largest Sunni seminary in Iran, Darululoom Zahedan, organizes a convention for students –mostly in March of each year– to meet Islamic scholars, intellectuals and professors of universities directly. In such gatherings and meetings they discuss their matters and exchange ideas with the scholars.

The full report of the convention will be published soon by SunniOnline.
