At least 17 people have been killed in an airstrike carried out by the US-led forces in Afghanistan’s southeastern Ghazni Province.
The incident took place on Tuesday in Ghazni’s Andar district.
Afghan officials say most of those killed were Pakistani nationals.
The attack apparently targeted a house which was besieged by Afghan and foreign forces.
A military commander in the area says all of those killed were Taliban militants.
On Monday, at least three civilians were killed in a US airstrike in Helmand Province.
Also on October 13, at least 14 people were killed in a nocturnal US airstrike in Ghazni.
The US claims its airstrikes target militants, but local sources say civilians have been the main victims of the attacks.
Moreover, the loss of civilian lives at the hands of US-led foreign forces has dramatically increased anti-American sentiments in Afghanistan, triggering anti-US protests across the war-torn country.
The United States and its allies invaded Afghanistan in 2001 as part of Washington’s so-called war on terror. The offensive removed the Taliban from power, but years into the invasion, insecurity continues to rise across the country.
