Khateeb of Ahl-us-Sunnah in Zahedan, Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdul Hameed, started his latest Friday speech by recitation of holy verse: «إن الذین لایرجون لقاءنا و رضوا بالحیوة الدنیا واطمأنوا بها و الذین عن آیاتنا غافلون* اولئک مأواهم النار بما کانوا یکسبون» and talked about disapprobation of gulosity and greed of the worldly means.
Explaining the reciting verse, he pointed that having avarice to wealth and money is a very bad character; it disvalues humanity and affects reputation of the person. Miser and greedy persons do not have any value before Almighty Allah. He loves sufficient people who do not want more than their share and thank Allah for His blessings.
The rector of Darululoom Zahedan added more, ‘According to the teachings of Islam and Shari’ah, sustenance must be hunt through appropriate and legal ways. Being meticulous, finicky and avaricious while seeking sustenance is disapproved. Because, our beloved prophet (peace & blessings be upon him) said that no one leaves this world until s/he gets all his/her share completely. So do not exhaust yourself to earn more.’
Khateeb of Ahl-us-Sunnah pointed that it is recommended to look at lower people in worldly affairs not upper ones. When you see a palace and beautiful villa and you do not have such house, so remember the person who has no even a simple personal house. Thus, people should go on the path of sobriety and be sufficient in seeking food.
He further said that greedy people never stop earning. A great saying of the prophet Muhammad (pbuh) points that only dust fills the stomach of sons of Adam. Beloved prophet cursed “slaves” of Deenar and Dirham.
Shaikh Abdul Hameed explicated the Qur’anic verse more and said, ‘Allah Almighty showed the character of those who do not have zeal and hope to meet Allah; they are worldly-minded not lovers of Allah. Such people only have trust on money and remain neglectful from the divine signs.’
He continued saying that the end of worldly-minded people is the hell. So neglectful people would enter the inferno. On the other hand, sufficient slaves of Allah would gain paradise and the forgiveness of the Almighty.
‘The second group strives to revive faith; they always remember Allah and try to offer prayers with piety and sincerity. Sufficient people are grateful to Allah and do not forget blessings of Him,’ Shaikh opined.
