Iran: Detention of a Sunni activist in Qasr-e Shirin
masjed-alnabi-qasrshirinKERMANSHAH- The Iranian forces arrested a Sunni activist “Ali Akbar Mahmoodi” from the Kurd-majority province of Iran, Kermanshah on Sunday, 13 Feb. and shifted him to an unknown place.

The arrested activist, whose detention is reasonless, is a member of the administrative board of “Masjid Al-Nabi” mosque in “Qasr-e-Shirin” city, “Naji Kurd” web wire has reported.
It is notable that this mosque is the only Sunni mosque in Qasr-e-Shirin which was built in the previous regime (Shah).
It was damaged partly during the Iran-Iraq war in 1980s, then Ali Akbar Mahmoodi worked hard to complete the reestablishment project of the mosque in its new place, but unfortunately due to continuous interference and prevention of the Iranian authorities, after passing fifteen years the project has not completed yet.
