‘Confiscation of Iranian Balochs’ NIC is Injustice’
molana-newZAHEDAN: Cancellation of the Baloch citizens’ identity cards on the bases of false and bogus reports is violation of the Iranian rules and basic rights of Balochs, that’s why some of them have joined anti state parties, Shaikh Abdul Hameed said on Friday. The great leader of Sunnis in Zahedan more added, ‘It happened frequently that some people reported to the officials that there are some non-Iranian citizens who have identity papers and cards just for their personal matters they are doing such actions. So its not justice to cancel the valid cards and papers of masses without satisfied investigation and research on the all dimensions of the issue. Because many people lost their registered cards and joined anti government organizations in reaction.’

The eminent Sunni scholar said that he has received lots of public complaints from masses, some of them could not get cards and valid papers of some of them have been confiscated.
Talking to the audience of Makki mosque in Zahedan, he urged that the government should realize the going on difficult circumstances of Sistan-Balochistan province. This province is a tribal region, people had to migrate to the neighbor countries, and many of them did not get identity cards due to fear of “Compulsory Military Service” in Iran.
‘Baloch tribes live at the border area of Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan. So the concerned officials should take the issue very seriously,’ he further said.
Shaikh Abdul Hameed recommended the government to establish a commission from local people, tribal elders and officials; this commission would investigate the cases.
‘We are sure that staff of the Registration Department contains only non-Balochs and Shiite countrymen, that is why we insist on this matter that is very serious,’ he added.
At the end Imam of Sunnis indicated to his trip towards Mirjaweh, border area in the south east of Iran, near Zahedan, and said, ‘People in Mirjaweh have been suffering from financial and economical problems. This region is a barren area; the source of earning is only joint border with Pakistan. But the government has closed this border, on the other side subsidies have been finished and the high prices affected the masses more than ever. So the concerned rulers must take positive steps in this regard.’
