Sheikh Abdul Hameed, Imam and preacher of Friday prayers for Sunnis in Zahedan, indicated towards status of the companions of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) specially he expressed this Friday the great activities of first Caliph Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him)as he played an important role for achieving many victories for Islam, as he said: “My advice to all Muslims is that if you can not love Sahabas and Ahl-e-Bait of the Holy Prophet so at least do not abuse them and they should be avoid from Blaspheming and cursing them. Because of their sincerity, genuflections and worships Sahabah (Allah be pleased with them) succeeded in every walk of their life as Almighty Allah says about them:
Messenger of Allah; and those who are with him are strong against Unbelievers, (but) compassionate amongst each other. Thou wilt see them bow and prostrate themselves (in prayer) seeking Grace from Allah and (His) Good Pleasure”.
Sheikh added, “The majority of people know that the best group of people after Prophets is the Prophet’s Companions (PBUH). There is no doubt that the Companions were human beings as all the prophets were, but as usual a man differs from the other one rather the hole human beings are not equal.
There are Some people they consider the companions as they are, they think that the companions were like them but it is absolutely wrong comparison; rather the humans are different in grades and ranks, the best of creation after the Prophets are the Companions of the Prophet peace be upon him.”
Shaikh pointed out to the status of the four great caliphs, saying that the best companions of the migrants and supporters [Muhajireen &Ansaar] are the four caliphs and successors whom all Sahaabahs agreed on their high virtue and status. And the Prophet (peace be upon him) was bringing them closer not because of his relationship to them, but for their good qualities and high status.
Shaikh more said, “No doubt that all the companions were sincere and pious, but there is variation in the rank and degree of sincerity.
Human history has not seen since pre-Islamic era, rather from our father Adam’s era as well as it would not be seen in the next times such Caliphs. According to the saying of holy prophet (PBUH) the best of them and among the whole Islamic nation is Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him).”
The great Sunni leader went on saying that the Caliphs (God bless them) were examples of simple living high thinking, they did not live like other sultans and kings with luxury lives, they preferred hereafter on this mortal world, they did not leave after them any hereditary estate and properties to be shared among their descendants, but they preferred to live in huts on life in the palaces. There was not any veil between them and other people.
He continued saying: that they provided flock freedom to criticize and challenge to their publics; even an old female or servant was able to ask the Caliph that: are they going on the right path? I ask the advocates of freedom and democracy: can they show such leaders and models of that freedom in the era of great caliphs? Those are melting of all slogans of freedom and democracy before them?!
Sheikh urged, “That blessed group of the Holy Prophet’s students were perfect men in all walks of their lives, they did jihad against the Iran empires and Byzantium to rescue the oppressed people from the yoke of cruel and despot rulers not to aspire spoils or purposes other material, even they did not give value to this physical manifestations. None of them was aware that he would be the caliph of Muslims in future.”
After mentioning some events and Ahadeeth about accomplishment of the First caliph in Islamic history Sayyedna Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) the khateeb of Makki mosque concluded his points saying that all companions of the Holy Prophet accepted him as a khilafa on account of being the greatest scholar and best person among them.
Mulana Abdul Hameed further said, “We have to love this blessed group, where they cause to our lives, our Islam, and they were the supporters of the Prophet (PBUH) who spread out His call and mission. Those people who got clearance from the Qur’an, saying: ” Muhammad (SAW) is the Messenger of Allâh, And those who are with him are severe against disbelievers, and merciful among themselves. You see them bowing and falling down prostrate (in prayer), seeking Bounty from Allâh and (His) Good Pleasure. The mark of them (i.e. of their Faith) is on their faces (foreheads) from the traces of prostration (during prayers). This is their description in the Taurât (Torah).” {Al-Fath-29}
The key to success of this blessed group of Ummah was in prostration, bowing and kneeling before Almighty Allah, as described by God in this above mentioned verse, and the only reason for the progress of Muslim Ummah in the recent time is to stay rightly on the holy Prophet’s teachings and his companions.
