The grand Sheikh Maulana Abdul Hameed (imam of Friday prayers for Sunnis in Zahedan city) started his sermon by reciting the verse: (إنما يوفى الصابرون أجرهم بغير حساب) [only those who are patient shall receive their incalculable reward].
The main theme of this Friday sermon was to explain the importance of patience and honesty, he said: “the most important thing after having faith (Eeman ) is possessing righteousness and patience; because after accepting Islam it is very necessary to stay on what he says and firmly accept all the instructions of Islam till the last day of his life.
Imam Ghazali (Allah’s mercy on him) quoted from Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) that there are three kinds of patience:
First one is to take care of offering divine obligatory and religious laws regularly; such as: prayers, fasting (Sawm), pilgrimage (Hajj), rights of parents and taking care of relatives. In short to take care of God’s as well as the people’s rights.
The second type is to do patience from sin and guilt; because every human being has tendency to wards sin but cleaned hearts are not like it; as Quran says: {it (human) is incliner to wards evil, unwilling to obey and worship}.”
Explaining this kind of patience sheikh pointed to an important point that mankind was created on the rank between bestiality and angelic. Rather angels never disobey God at all; neither they have desires nor Satan can misguide them, and animals neither they have mind nor they can measure; their total desire is to eat, drink and instinct, therefore they do what ever they wish, they eat saturatedly with non-discrimination between halal and haram. Now com towards human being because of having angelic they can do good deeds, get reward it can prevent him self from desires and sins. Thus those who do not follow their desires and keep themselves far away from sins so they will be beloved by God and in hereafter they will be placed in paradise, and such people will be certified by the verse (ولكم فيها ما تشتهي أنفسكم ولكم فيها ما تدعون), {and you have whatever you wish and you have whatever you demand}.
Sheikh pointed out to the third type of patience and said, “The most important type of patience types is to do patience in trial and calamities. when a person is examined and plagued with difficulties and calamities so he has to hold patience thus he can get uncountable wages and grades in the court of almighty Allah as Allah says about this group :{the people when they are afflicted with calamity and say we belong to Allah and to him we return they are on the guidance from their Lord and they are rightly guided}.
So divine mercy does not include those who do not continue worshiping God, who act upon their pretext of ignorance and they do wailing and despondency in misfortune; because the patient slave of Allah must insure that whatever Almighty Allah has written in his fat that is right; as our holy prophet (P.B.U.H) when he lost his best seventy companions at Ohod battle he held patience in the catastrophe.”
Maulana Abdul Hameed went on that any human being if imagines the difficulties and trials by which the best slaves of God almighty (prophets & Awliaa) were examined so he will find his trial easier than their trials and happily he will hold the patience.
He added, “Scholars have stated that belief has two parts: one is thanks giving and the second one is doing patience. We thank God for his blessings and if we are examined in calamities and misfortunes so we will hold strongly the rope of patience. Quran has warned us that the world is the place of examination. {The trials and hardships} we must be patient in all walks .we must have patience in worship and avoidance of sin the patient fulfill their wages without counting in the day of resurrection.”
Sheikh pointed out in the latter part of his speech towards 20th of Farvardin month of the solar year {Nuclear Energy Day in Iran} and said that the nuclear energy is our legitimate right, we do not mean nuclear weapons. If the nuclear activity is peaceful so it is the right of our nation and right of each nation of the world. We hope the issue of nuclear file will be resolved soon so as not to increase the problems of our people and our government.
