‘Druids are Representatives of Ghosts, Satans’

The great Islamic scholar Mawlana Muhammad Yousuf, from Rahimyarkhan of Pakistan, declared genies and Satans the biggest enemies of mankind who strive to misguide people by druids, “representatives of Satans on the earth”.

He began his speech, which was translated by Mawlana Abdol-Ghani Badri into Persian, by the noble Qur’anic verses: «لاَ إِكْرَاهَ فِي الدِّينِ قَد تَّبَيَّنَ الرُّشْدُ مِنَ الْغَيِّ فَمَنْ يَكْفُرْ بِالطَّاغُوتِ وَيُؤْمِن بِاللّهِ فَقَدِ اسْتَمْسَكَ بِالْعُرْوَةِ الْوُثْقَىَ لاَ انفِصَامَ لَهَا وَاللّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ*اللّهُ وَلِيُّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ يُخْرِجُهُم مِّنَ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى النُّوُرِ وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ أَوْلِيَآؤُهُمُ الطَّاغُوتُ يُخْرِجُونَهُم مِّنَ النُّورِ إِلَى الظُّلُمَاتِ أُوْلَئِكَ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ», (There is no compulsion in Faith. The correct way has become distinct from the erroneous. Now, whoever rejects the Taghut (the Rebel, the Satan) and believes in Allah has a firm grasp on the strongest ring that never breaks. Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. Allah is the Protector of those who believe. He brings them out of the depths of darkness into the light. As for those who disbelieve, their friends are the Rebels. They bring them out from the light into the depths of darkness. Those are people of the Fire. There they will remain forever.); [Baqarah: 256-257]

Talking to thousands of worshippers in Zahedan, southeastern Iran, the rector of Jamia Usmania Rahimyarkhan, urged, “We must be thankful to Allah for the great blessing of faith and Islam. However, we owe our forefathers as they first embraced Islam and we were born in Muslim families. It is a big honor for us to be parts of the Ummah of the Last Prophet, peace be upon him. But we must be careful and vigilant; as Satan wants disbelievers to remain on their false tenets, in the same way leading Muslims towards the Hell and misguidance is the priority of Devil.”

Alluding to some methods of Satan for misguiding people, Shaikh Muhammad Yousuf said, “Ghosts do not have prescience as they show. They do not leave any stone unturned just to misguide human beings. There is a narration in the authentic Hadith books that Satans and ghosts make a line up to the sky; they want to trace any sentence of angels when they speak with each other and then share it with their men on the earth. In this way they bring a truth with hundreds of false claims. In this process, angels open fire on them and many of them get destroyed, yet they sacrifice because they want to mislead people and snatch their faith.”

The prominent Pakistani scholar further said, “The beloved prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said whoever goes to druids and ratify their claims, s/he has denied what has been sent down to Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him. Because the noble Qur’an and Sunnah urge only Allah has prescience. Some people think druids are friends of Allah while the Qur’an calls them ‘affaak’ and ‘atheem’; affaak means the person who tells lie a lot and atheem is the one who is involved in the dirt of sins.”

He said that it was natural to be ill and suffer from some diseases, but why people visit druids for treatment and lose their faith? Druids are in direct contact with the malignant genies who struggle to misguide people. That is why they are representatives of Satans on the earth. Allah asks believers to seek refuge to Allah from temptations of both human and genie Satans. Ulama must warn people of such things, otherwise they will be questioned on the Resurrection Day as Allah says: «فَلَنَسْأَلَنَّ الَّذِينَ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْهِمْ وَلَنَسْأَلَنَّ الْمُرْسَلِينَ», (So, We shall ask those to whom the messengers were sent, and We shall ask the messengers (how they conveyed the message)); [Araaf: 6]

It is noteworthy Mawlana Muhammad Yousuf, a leader of Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam, has travelled to Zahedan to convey the condolence message of the JUI and its chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman to the Sunni community of Iran and Shaikh Abdol-Hamid over the painful demise of Mawlana Ahmad Narui, a senior teacher of Darululoom Zahedan.
