Iranian Kurdistan: Sh. Hashem Hussein-Panahi detained

Iran-Sanandaj: The Iranian intelligence officials in ‘Kurdistan’ have detained a prominent Sunni activist, Shaikh Hashem Hussein-Panahi from his home in Sanandaj, Kurdistan.
“SunniOnline” has received some credible information that the intelligence authorities raided on Shaikh Hashem’s home on Sunday, Sep. 2 where he was arrested by security men.

The eminent Sunni activist, Shaikh Hussein-Panahi is the head of Shar’ee public judge’s office in Kurdistan, a teacher at Imam Bukhari Islamic seminary of Sanandaj (provincial capital of Kurdistan). He is member of Maktab-e-Qur’an Movement of Kurdistan and well-known for his impressive discourses over the region.

The head of Kurdistan’s people-supported office of Mufti and Shar’ee judge was employee in a regional state court for 12 years; three years ago, he was ousted from his post because of his participation in religious ceremonies and defense of Sunni minority’s due rights.

It should be noted that Shaikh Abdullah Abbasi, one of the leading heads of Kaak Hassan Amini’s office, was held two months ago by the security officials; he has not been released yet. Kaak Amini is the public Shar’ee judge and Mufti of Kurdistan. Meanwhile, Sayd-Murad Fathi, an active member of Maktab-e-Qur’an Movement was summoned to the Intelligence office of Sanandaj few days ago where he was questioned for hours.
