Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid, on October 30, 2026, in the first part of his speech at the Friday prayer ceremony in Zahedan, referred to the broad concept of “trust,” and considered observing trustworthiness among the most important religious and moral duties of human beings. He emphasized the necessity of observing it in all aspects of life.
Religiosity Means Observing Trust in All Areas of Life
Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid, referring to the importance of trustworthiness in Islamic teachings, stated: Trust has a very broad meaning. In popular usage, trust refers to property that a person entrusts to another for safekeeping, but the concept of trust goes far beyond this meaning and encompasses all of human life.
Emphasizing that no one is exempt from the responsibility of trustworthiness, he said: All of us are in some way trustees and have responsibilities. Religiosity means that a person observes trustworthiness in all aspects of life; therefore, we should not limit trust only to financial matters, but we must be trustworthy in all individual, family, social affairs and the responsibilities entrusted to us.
Islam and the Rulings of the Shariah Are “Divine Trusts” in Our Hands
The Friday Imam of Zahedan also referred to the rulings of the Shariah as a “trust”, and noted: Trust is so heavy and great that when Allah Almighty offered it to the earth, the heavens and the mountains, they expressed inability and incapacity to accept it; but man, in the hope of gaining the pleasure and satisfaction of God through fulfilling the trust, accepted it and agreed to take on this responsibility.
He continued: Islam and divine rulings are in fact placed as a trust with us. We are the trustees of the Qur’an, the heritage of the Holy Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) and the good heritage of our predecessors and ancestors, and one of the great duties of man is to observe trustworthiness. Protecting and defending the trust of religion and acting upon its commands is among our duties, and we must hand over this trust sound and unharmed to others and future generations. If a person observes the trust, God’s satisfaction will include him and his place will be Paradise; but if he betrays the trust, his end will be Hell.
“Justice and Fairness” Are Trusts of God and Must Be Observed in Judgments
The Friday preacher of Zahedan said: Allah Almighty has commanded that trusts be handed over to those who are entitled to them. If we are to decide or judge about a matter, we must observe fairness and justice; because justice is also a trust of God and we are obliged to act justly.
He added: Rulers, judges, elders and the general public must observe fairness and the law of God. If someone in a position of judgment judges contrary to the ruling of God, this act is contrary to the principle of trustworthiness.
“Knowledge and Skill” Are Trusts and Must Be Used Properly
Mawlana Abdol-Hamid, stating that trustworthiness is one of the important moral issues in Islam, declared: Knowledge, learning and skill are also trusts that have been placed at the disposal of man. Every individual must place his experience and skill properly and soundly at the disposal of others and also act correctly in guidance and consultation.
He said: Someone who has obtained a doctorate and specialized degree has the responsibility not to oppress patients and to treat them compassionately. Every head and official must also perform his duty properly and it should not be that he works only for his relatives and friends.
He also, referring to the mutual responsibilities of family members, noted: The husband has the responsibility to fulfill the rightful demands of his family. A wife is also the trustee of the household belongings of her husband, her own honor and that of her husband, and also the trustee of the children.
Those in Charge of Mosques, Schools, Universities and Offices Must Properly Observe Their Trust and Responsibility
The Friday Imam of Sunnis in Zahedan, pointed out to the breadth of the concept of trust in social and administrative responsibilities as well, and stated: The concept of trust is very broad. Anyone who is in charge of a mosque, a religious school, common schools, a university, an office or a ministry must observe trustworthiness and perform his responsibility properly.
He warned: It is possible that those in charge of a mosque will be held accountable by God on the Day of Judgment for why they drove people away from the mosque or did not observe the cleanliness and trust of the mosque. Scholars, teachers and preachers will also be asked whether they expressed the truth to the extent of their ability and properly performed the responsibility they had accepted or not.
The Holy Prophet PBUH Advised Muslims to “Seek the Good of All Human Beings”
The Friday Imam of Sunnis in Zahedan, in another part of his remarks, emphasized the necessity of seeking the good and compassion for all human beings, and stated: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to take a pledge from Muslims on three matters: establishing prayer, paying Zakat, and seeking the good of all people. As he said in a hadith: The religion is seeking the good for God, the Prophet, the Imams and Muslim rulers, and the general body of Muslims.
Explaining the concept of seeking the good, he noted: Seeking the good in relation to God means that we do not associate partners with Him, obey His commands and do not commit sin and disobedience. Seeking the good in relation to the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is also in obedience to him and spreading the teachings of that noble one (peace and blessings be upon him).
He continued: Seeking the good for the general public means that we have compassion for them, defend their rights and guide them correctly. Regarding scholars and rulers as well, seeking the good is that if they are moving on the right path, we do not rebel and revolt against them, and if they commit a mistake, we criticize them constructively and compassionately.
Enmity with a Group Should Not Lead Us to Injustice toward Them
The most important Iranian Sunni scholar further said: The Almighty Allah says: “And do not let the hatred of a people prevent you from being just. Be just”; your enmity with a group and people should not cause you to trample justice; rather, you must observe justice. We are committed to judging fairly about our opponents as well, and enmity with them should not cause us to judge them unjustly. If a person with whom we have a difference is in the right on a matter, we must give him the right and not oppress him.
The People of the World Were Influenced by the Ethics, Justice and Fair Life of the Holy Prophet PBUH
The Friday Imam of Sunnis in Zahedan, continued his points by referring to the influence of Islamic teachings and the conduct of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on various nations, and stated: The programs and laws of the religion of Islam are just and impartial. The people of the world were influenced by the teachings, the fair and simple and unpretentious life of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
He emphasized: People were not influenced by words, names and titles; rather, they observed the performance and humanity of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and realized that this is the right path.
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid continued: Various nations were influenced by the just and fair performance of Muslim governments, officials and those in charge of affairs, as well as their piety and behavior of the people, and inclined toward this religion. The laws and programs of Islam are so firmly based on justice and fairness that if they are properly implemented, they can attract the hearts of human beings.
Today People Are Not Influenced by Great Names and Slogans; Rather, They Look at Ethics and Performance
Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid, pointed out to the gap between the claims and the performance of some individuals and officials, emphasizing the necessity of reviewing behavior and responsibility, and said: Today also, people are not influenced by great names and slogans; rather, they look at ethics and performances. Therefore, all of us have a heavy responsibility and must observe trustworthiness in all affairs.
As Long as the Rightful Demands of the People Are Not Given a “Positive Response,” “Advocacy” Will Continue
In another part of his speech, Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid stated that the Iranian nation in past years has endured many sufferings and problems for “the implementation of justice and fairness” and “attaining rightful demands,” addressed the country’s officials and stated that as long as these rightful demands are not given a “positive response” and are not addressed, “demand-making” and “raising demands” will continue.
The Iranian Nation in the 1979 Revolution Sought “Freedom,” “Justice” and “Entrusting Affairs to Capable and Worthy Individuals”
Mawlana Abdol-Hamid stated: The people of Iran seek the implementation of justice and fairness and in recent years have endured many problems and sufferings to attain this demand. Many have lost their dear ones and many are also in prison.
He added: The Iranian nation in the 1979 Revolution did not rise up for a particular person and did not endure hardships and sufferings; rather, it pursued sacred goals and rightful demands. The people of Iran in the 1979 Revolution sought freedom and the implementation of justice and fairness so that the entire nation, including men and women and ethnic communities and religions and faiths, would be under the umbrella of justice. The people wanted capable and worthy individuals to take charge of the country’s affairs.
The Non-Realization of the Goals and Demands of the People Led to the Creation of Dissatisfaction and the Start of Protests
The Friday Imam of Zahedan noted: When the goals and demands of the people were not fulfilled, dissatisfactions arose and popular protests started again, and now also the people seek the same demands.
He stated: If you want society to become calm and the satisfaction of the nation to be achieved, the words of the Iranian people must be heard and the demands that have been raised over the past years and are still being raised must be addressed.
The People Seek “Justice and Fairness” and “the Spending of the Public Treasury for the Benefit of the Iranian Nation”
Mawlana Abdol-Hamid stated: The people seek justice and fairness and want all the assets and capitals of the country, which are national interests and the public treasury, to be spent for the benefit of the people. The demand of the Iranian people is that financial corruption be fought and the country progress economically and reach the high position it deserves among countries and nations.
He continued: Iran is a country whose people possess competence, talent and capability, and there are also large material capitals and reserves in this country. People of a country with all this talent and capital, why should be hungry and live under pressure?! The people do not accept and tolerate this.
“Stopping Executions and Forced Confessions” Is the Demand of “the Overwhelming Majority of the Iranian People”
Mawlana Abdol-Hamid, emphasized “stopping executions and forced confessions”, and said: Except for a small number, the overwhelming majority of the Iranian people seek the stopping of executions in the country. These executions are very heavy for the Iranian nation and the entire world and international and human rights forums also protest these executions.
The most influential Iranian scholar continued: Another of the demands of the Iranian people is the stopping of forced confessions that are taken in detention centers. These forced confessions are contrary to the Shariah of Islam, and the executions that take place also have no place in the religion of Islam.
A “Profound and Great Change” Can Be a Step toward Realizing the People’s Demands
The Friday Imam of Zahedan stated: Most of the demands of the Iranian people are rightful, and as long as the officials do not give a positive response to these demands, be sure that raising demands and advocacy will continue.
He added: A profound and great change can be a step forward in the direction of realizing the people’s demands. We hope that in the future conditions will be prepared in the country so that the people attain their rightful demands.
“Using Local Forces” Is the Demand of the General Public in the Provinces; Local Forces Have More “Knowledge” and “Compassion”
Mawlana Abdol-Hamid, in another part of his remarks at the Friday prayer ceremony in Zahedan, emphasized the necessity of “using local forces” in the provinces, including Sistan and Baluchistan, and said: Employing worthy and capable local forces has always been one of the important demands of the people in all provinces and also in Sistan and Baluchistan, because local forces have more knowledge and compassion.
In the Current Conditions of the Country, “Changing the Local Management of Sistan and Baluchestan” Benefits No One
The Friday Imam of Zahedan referred to some efforts to change the governor of Sistan and Baluchistan, who is a local Baloch resident of the province, and said: In the forty-eight years after the Revolution, local forces have been used twice in Sistan and Baluchistan in the post of governor, one of which is the current management of the province. Using a local force in the management of Sistan and Baluchistan has been the demand of the general public of the province, but recently it is heard that some cannot tolerate the presence of this local force in the post of governor and movements and efforts have begun to change and relocate this local force; while the local governor, despite the special conditions prevailing in the country, has made his effort and has had more success.
He stated: In the current conditions of the country, a local manager in the province will be more effective than any other force. Therefore, relocating and changing the local management of the province in these conditions benefits no one.
