Iran-Zahedan: The eminent Islamic scholar in Iran, Shaikh Abdol-Hameed Ismaeelzahi, put the right of the veto for some particular countries unjust and despotic that should be taken off in his latest Friday speech in the Grand Makki Masjid of Zahedan.
Indicating to the 16th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) held in Tehran, Khateeb of Ahl-us-Sunnah said more, ‘Although most of the participant states in the Non-Aligned Movement have become “aligned” to any power bloc, but their gathering in the capital is glad news for Iran. Most of the big powers have been trying to marginalize Iran by imposing undue sanctions; nonetheless presence of the NAM leaders in Tehran plays an important role in fracture of Iran’s isolation.’
The outstanding leader of the Sunni community in Iran counted assignment of the NAM’s chairmanship for three years to Iran another achievement for the country.
He added more, ‘Speech of the leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, and his analysis over the powerless and powerful countries were important and considerable. As well as the discourse of the Islamist president of Egypt, Mr. Mohammad Morsi, was very impressive. Both of them expressed their support for the oppressed nations -Mr. Khamenei supported Palestinians and Mr. Morsi supported both Palestinians and Syrians-.
The member of the IUMS went on saying that some of the leaders criticized ‘the veto’ that is in the hands of some particular powers. The UN and its Security Council have failed to resolve crises of the world; they have insignificant achievements in support of oppressed nations.
He underlined saying, ‘Some nations have been massacring for more than 50 years; the UN could not stop bloodshed of the oppressed masses and obvious violation of human rights. ‘The veto’ that is under full control of some so called “super powers” is despotic; they misuse this tool to ensure their interests. These powers neglect the rights of oppressed nations across the world. The US, Russia, China and some other states slaughter innocent men, women and children carelessly to get their interests. Only because of the veto, the UN and Security Council can not overcome crises and people’s genocide.’
Shaikh Ismaeelzahi pointed more saying that the circumstances over the globe have been changed; people are vigilant. So “the veto” that is against democracy’s principles and it is a tyrannical tool must be removed.
Khateeb of Sunnis concluded his points by saying, ‘As a sympathetic and responsible citizen, I would like to recommend rulers and authorities to utilize this opportunity; they should strive to find a solution for domestic and regional problems of the country open-heartedly. A country that remained host for almost 120 countries, in the recent NAM summit, should look at internal and foreign issues from a wider landscape in order to salve the problems and give any practical remedy.’
