“إنما يعمر مساجد الله من آمن بالله واليوم الآخر وأقام الصلاة وآتى الزكاة ولم يخش إلا الله فعسى أولئك أن يكونوا من المهتدين”.The Mosques of Allâh shall be maintained only by those who believe in Allâh and the Last Day; perform As-Salât (Iqâmat-as-Salât), and give Zakât and fear none but Allâh. Due to lack of space in Makki mosque, the largest mosque of the Sunnis in Iran, especially on Fridays, it has been decided to extend the building and floors of the mosque.
Though Makki mosque of Zahedan is one of the largest mosques in the region but tens of thousand worshipers present there for worshiping Almighty Allah where they have been facing many problems in offering the duty of Friday prayers, thousands of the worshipers offer prayers on surrounding roads and streets, as well as on the courtyard of Darululoom Zahedan.
It is a long time that the reconstruction project of Makki mosque has started, few days ago the new phase of expansion project of re-building old building of the mosque started.
As the costs of building and construction are very high and all mosques and religious schools of the Sunnis in “Sistan and Baluchistan” province do not receive any financial support from the government; we hope public participation of Muslims in this great charity work by sending their contributions will be “ongoing charity” for them.
