Shaikh A.Hamid demands amendment in electoral act, sympathize the P.E’s victims
molana-damanZAHEDAN: Shaikh Abdul Hamid, Imam and preacher of Friday prayers in Zahedan, while sharing the sympathy and showing his sorrows for the victims of incidents that followed the recent disputed presidential election in Iran, asked immediate amendment in the electoral laws.

Grand Shaikh said in his sermon at Jame’a mosque of “Korin”, the suburbs of Zahedan city, “22nd of Khordad (12th June) is the remembrance day of the disputed election that followed differences and widespread protests in the country, where many of our countrymen lost their lives in the incidents that followed this election and many other citizens were injured as well”.
The great Sunni leader expressed his deep condolences to the families of victims of such events and more said, “besides such strong actions and using force on masses there were other ways and options to end the protests and objections without these casualties; the officials were able to convince opponents of the measure and solve the problem in a better way.”
Friday preacher of the Sunnis in Zahedan further said that the main problem in our country is denying completely copying the whole Constitution and following it in a correct way, some elements are afraid to promulgate the entire constitution. Undoubtedly, the problems of Sunni community in Iran are caused by same problem.
“If government carries out correctly the whole Constitution, surely the concerns of the majority of the society will be solved,” he added.
The head of Darululoom Zahedan urged strongly on the need to reform some articles of the Constitution and more said, “The Constitution is not divine revelation sent by Allah almighty to be preserved from error, but it is made by the human mind, which might be wrong. The experience of thirty years tells us that some parts of the Constitution strongly needed reformation and adjustment.”
Shaikh Abdul Hameed went on saying, “willingly I recommend the officials, if you want to preserve national unity and survival of the system then you have to review some articles of the Constitution, especially the electoral law must be reformed and modified in order to end the concern and distress of the people.”
The Sunni leader further said that the incidents that followed the recent elections have shown that existing laws are neither sufficient nor convincing, and the elections must be held in the way that you do not feel afraid of the presence of international observers, and make sure free and impartial elections.
