SRINAGAR: A separatist protester in Indian-administered Kashmir was killed and several others wounded Monday when security forces opened fire to disperse a violent demonstration, police said.

An Afghan police official said on Monday that eight civilians were killed in a NATO raid in the southern province of Kandahar, but the alliance claimed the victims were Taliban fighters.

OCCUPIED KASHMIR: Another youth was killed in this north Kashmir town on Sunday when [Indian] paramilitary CRPF troopers opened fire on protesters. The killing comes barely 3-days after two youth were shot dead by the CRPF men in the town.

Kyrgyzstan has voted in a referendum on a new constitution amid fears of renewed inter-ethnic violence. Voting ended at 8pm local time (1400GMT) on Sunday. The country’s election commission said 58 per cent of registered voters cast their ballots. Results are due on Monday.

LAHORE: A Pakistani court has ordered the authorities to block access to nine websites including Google, Yahoo and YouTube for allegedly offending Muslims with blasphemous material.
