Shaikh Abdol-Hamid in the Friday sermon of Zahedan:

Deeds Have Positive and Negative Effects in Life

Deeds Have Positive and Negative Effects in Life

Describing the miserable situation of the world as the result of human beings’ deeds and actions, the most influential Iranian Sunni leader insisted on self-purification, considering the duty of enjoining the good and forbidding the evil as the inherent duty of all Muslims in reforming the society.
In his Friday sermons of Zahedan on Aug 26, 2022, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid began his speech by reciting the verse 102 of the chapter Aal-e Imran, and believed that mankind’s deeds and actions had positive and negative effects in life.
“Allah Almighty wants to test His servants in this world; He has shown the right and wrong ways to people. He tests His servants to make it clear which way people choose with their intellect and how they act,” said the eminent Iranian Sunni scholar in Zahedan’s Grand Musalla in the presence of tens of thousands of Sunni worshippers before the Friday prayers.
“Allah has placed an effect on each both good and bad deed; good deeds have a positive effect and bad deeds such as hatred and disobedience and so on have negative effects, and cause damage and failure. Humanity faces challenges and backwardness due to his own performance; even a single word has an effect in life,” the Friday prayer leader of Sunnis in Zahedan believed.
Mawlana Abdol-Hamid went on to continue his speech by saying: “If we speak based on the truth, equality, and fairness, Allah will fix all problems through us, because He has placed a positive effect on the right and firm saying. Remembering Allah, sending salutations to the prophet, seeking forgiveness, recitation of the Holy Qur’an and all kinds of good actions have positive effects. Do not think that your advice and guidance to people remain fruitless; your advice to others will please Allah and improve your life. Good deeds cause people to enter the heaven.”
“Enjoining the good, forbidding the evil, guiding people and fixing their problems, visiting the sick, participating in the funeral, consoling with a mourner and winning the broken hearts and offering prayers in congregation, etc. have positive effects in life. On the other hand, breaking people’s hearts, losing the rights of others, backbiting, bribery, usury, adultery, extortion, looting orphans’ properties, murder, theft, drinking alcohol, drug addiction, hatred, jealousy , arrogance, pride, etc. have negative effects on the individuals and on society”, said the Friday Imam of Sunnis in Zahedan.
He added: “Through drinking alcohol, Satan wants to prevent people from two great virtues: Allah’s remembrance and the prayers, and throw them into two wells of evil: greed and enmity. Adultery is a source of evil and corruption and has dangerous consequences; it creates strife and war, but marriage is the source of goodness and mercy; it helps to build a safe, clean, and a powerful society.”
In order to get rid of these calamities, Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid emphasized on the necessity of repentance, seeking forgiveness, doing the duty of enjoining good and forbidding evil, believing that if people’s deeds were good and they were righteous, Almighty Allah would not send down torments.
“Actually committing sins is a declaration of war with Allah. Sins and disobedience, usury and bribery are contrary to the teachings of the holy Qur’an. Today, Muslims do not care about their faith and oppose the orders of Allah Almighty and His messenger, Muhammad, peace be upon him. Those who oppose the noble teachings of the holy Qur’an and the commandments of the Almighty should be afraid of Allah’s punishments,” he said more.
The president of Darululoom Zahedan further continued: “After seeing these bad scenes in the world, we have a duty to obey Allah, take steps towards reforming individuals and society and not be indifferent, because being indifferent to society’s affairs creates problems.”
“The holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, succeeded in bringing sweeping change in the world; he was not alone, but his Companions accompanied him with love, respect, and great passion and enthusiasm, may Allah be pleased with all of them. The Prophet assigned duties to the Companions; they performed their duties well and brought reforms in the world,” said the most prominent Iranian Sunni scholar in his Friday sermons of Zahedan.

Reducing petrol quota of Sistan-Baluchistan is an unfair decision
Referring to the reduction of gasoline quota for cars in Sistan-Balochistan, the most influential Iranian Sunni leader called such a decision unfair. He called on the relevant authorities and the Ministry of Oil to resolve this problem soon.
“People complain that the gasoline quota of cars is 250 liters in the entire country, but this quota has been reduced to 150 liters in the province of Sistan and Baluchistan”, said the Friday Imam of Sunnis in Zahedan.
The most outstanding Iranian Baloch Sunni scholar criticized such a dealing of the Oil Ministry with the people of Sistan-Balochistan and noted: “What a decision has been taken! When people are treated unfairly, they will object.”
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid questioned: “Why do the authorities force the people to raise their voices? Instead of increasing the gasoline quota of this province from 250 liters to 300 or 400 liters, why did you reduce it? Why do you give the oppressed people of the province 150 liters of gasoline? Do you have a rational reason for this action?”
“This large province is about a thousand kilometers from the north to the south. The border dwellers of Balochistan have always endured so many deprivations and inequalities. They have struggled with the problems of poverty, deprivation and unemployment for years. You will never find such patient people anywhere else,” he noted.
“If the gasoline quota of the people of Sistan-Baluchistan is not more than other provinces, at least it should not be less. We hope that the authorities and the Ministry of Oil will resolve this concern of the people by taking concrete actions,” said the Imam of the Grand Makki Mosque of Zahedan in his Friday sermons.

Serving people is the biggest worship for officials
Referring to the occasion of “Government Week” in Iran (24-30 August), in the last part of his Friday speech of Zahedan, the Iranian Sunnis’ leader congratulated this week to the officials and noted: “There is no higher worship for officials than the worship of serving the nation. Serving people is actually winning their hearts and has a great reward before Allah Almighty. Allah’s pleasure is in getting people’s satisfaction.”
