Iran–China 25-year Deal Should be Clarified

Referring to public concerns in Iran after the signing of a 25-year cooperation agreement between Iran and China, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid, the most influential Iranian Sunni leader called on the officials for transparency in the agreement.

Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid said in his Friday speech of April 2, 2021, that the Iranians are concerned that the agreement is not clear.

“People are in doubt about this deal, media analysis it in different ways. In order to dispel suspicions and to convince the public, the agreement should be clarified to everyone and its contents should be shared with media”, said the Friday prayer leader of Sunnis in Zahedan.

“Agreements with other countries like this one which cause concerns and suspicions among the people must be clarified”, President of Darululoom Zahedan urged.

Protesting China’s oppression against Uighur minority is an Islamic obligation
Criticizing Iran’s silence over the Chinese oppression against Uighur Muslim minority, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said: “China is a communist state that commits the worst atrocities against the Uighur Muslim minority.”

“We complain the Islamic Republic of Iran, especially the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, that why they are silent in the face of such oppression and crime and don’t warn the Chinese government and why they don’t protest?!” Shaikh Abdol-Hamid expressed his concerns.

He noted that Iran’s protest against Chinese oppression to Uighur Muslim minority is an Islamic obligation.

“To defend the people’s rights in any part of the world is an Islamic, human, and international duty”, he added more.

“There is no problem to have good relations with China, but it does not mean Iran should close eyes on Chinese oppression against Muslims .our officials must warn the Chinese that they are oppressors”, Imam of the Grand Makki Mosque of Zahedan said.

He added: “Iran should warn the Chinese government to respect the rights of its Muslims and not to oppress them”.
‘This is the demand of all Iranian citizens,’ Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said.

Sistan-Baluchistan needs proper planning and correct use of potentials
Referring to the presence of the advisor to the provincial governor of Sistan-Baluchistan in the development of Makran’s beach, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid pointed to the potentials of Sistan-Baluchistan and said: “There are many opportunities and potentials in the field of development in the province; opportunities like borders, mines, agricultural lands and etc.”

“In my opinion, the biggest problem and shortage in this province is the lack of good planners. If we have good planners who can turn the potentials of Sistan and Baluchestan into actual capabilities, all the people of the province will get benefits and other parts of the country will also benefit from these potentials”, said the prominent scholar of Sistan-Baluchistan.

Emphasizing on the necessity of getting jobs and the importance of work and employment, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid considered the lack of motivation of the people to work as another social and economic problem and encouraged the people of the province to learn vocation and seek proper jobs and work hard.
