The Country’s Economy Has Reached the Brink of Collapse

Addressing the Friday prayer congregation in Zahedan on September 4, 2026, Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid described the living conditions of the people and the state of the economy as extremely alarming. Stating that the national economy has reached the brink of collapse, he identified mutual reconciliation and agreement as the best way out of this crisis and deadlock.

The Financial Condition of the People Extremely Fragile and Daily Life Faces Severe Paralysis
According to a report of the official website of the Sunni Friday Imam of Zahedan, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid stated: These days, poverty and economic problems are the greatest challenges and anxieties facing the people. The country’s economy has reached the verge of collapse. The exchange rate of the dollar rises day by day, and the national currency has lost its value.
He continued: The financial condition of the people is extremely fragile, and they are facing a severe deadlock in their lives. Shopkeepers have no customers, and customers lack the purchasing power to buy. No one is able to secure basic and essential necessities of life, and the Iranian nation is passing through exceptionally difficult circumstances.

Extremists Do Not Care About the People; Officials Must Care for the Public / Reconciliation and Agreement Are the Best Way Out of This Deadlock
Emphasizing the urgent need to resolve the public’s economic and livelihood crises, the Friday prayer leader of Zahedan said: Those in authority must care about the people. For officials, there is no duty or responsibility more important than addressing and resolving the grievances of the public. Iran is a vast nation of nearly ninety million people; managing the affairs of this country and its population is the direct responsibility of the authorities.
He clarified: Officials should not follow the conduct of extremists who feel no pain for the people. Authorities who are genuine well-wishers of the nation must care for the citizens and prevent further harm so that even greater crises do not emerge in society. The best solution to the country’s problems is mutual compromise and agreement. Officials must pursue reconciliation so that the nation can overcome this crisis.

The Attack on the Wedding Ceremony in Sirik and the Girls’ School in Minab Was Deeply Painful; We Condemn These Crimes
In another part of his Friday sermon in Zahedan, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid referred to the recent US strike on the port of Kohistak in Sirik district, Hormozgan province, stating: During the American strike on a communications tower in the port of Kohistak, a nearby wedding ceremony was also hit. Unfortunately, this resulted in 5 people being martyred and 60 others injured, the majority of whom were women and children. Similarly, in the bombing of a school in Minab that occurred in February, a large number of female students were martyred. These incidents are deeply distressing and painful, and we denounce these crimes.
He added: Those who bombed this ceremony and the school and took the lives of all these innocent people are responsible and must be held accountable.

Allah Almighty Has Forbidden Oppression upon His Servants
In the opening section of his sermon, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid condemned oppression, saying: Allah Almighty has made injustice and tyranny unlawful, which includes violating the wealth, lives, and honor of others. Allah Almighty states in a Qudsi Hadith: O My servants, I have forbidden oppression for Myself, and I have made it forbidden among you, so do not oppress one another.

Shirk Is a Tremendous Injustice
Citing a verse from the Holy Quran, the Friday prayer leader of Zahedan said: Loqman advised his son: O my son, do not associate partners with Allah; indeed, polytheism is a tremendous injustice. Injustice is of three kinds: injustice toward Allah Almighty, injustice toward one’s own soul, and injustice toward other human beings.
He added: Monotheism (Tawhid) is the path of justice, and whoever commits polytheism deviates from the path of justice and encroaches upon the exclusive rights of Allah. The greatest form of injustice toward Allah Almighty is polytheism and the worship of others alongside Him.
He said: Allah Almighty is singular in His Essence and Attributes. The knowledge, sight, and hearing of created beings are strictly limited compared to the infinite knowledge and power of Allah. Attributing the divine qualities of Allah, such as divinity, to created beings and equating them with God is a grave injustice.

Disobedience to God Is an Injustice to One’s Own Soul and Exposes Man to Divine Punishment
Mawlana Abdol-Hamid added: When a human being disobeys the commands of the Sustainer Who created him and bestowed upon him all kinds of blessings, he in reality wrongs his own soul. Through such actions, he places himself directly in the path of Allah’s wrath, anger, and punishment.

Hostage-Taking and Extortion Are Injustices against Oneself and the Nation / Kidnappers and Extortionists Must Fear the Sigh of the Oppressed and God’s Retribution
The Friday prayer leader of Zahedan strongly condemned injustice against fellow human beings, highlighting kidnapping for ransom and extortion as blatant examples of such oppression. He said: Encroaching upon the life, property, and honor of others is an injustice against mankind. Taking hostages over unpaid debts or for extortion is among the greatest wrongs and crimes, and everyone must stand against this abhorrent practice, which represents enmity against God and His servants. Legal channels must be used for debt recovery. Under both Islamic law and civil law, no one has the right to detain another person over a monetary claim or dispute.
He added: For those who engage in extortion and oppression, abducting children and ordinary citizens, all excuses have been eliminated and the proof is established against them. I warn kidnappers and extortionists to fear divine retribution and the sigh of the oppressed, release the hostages, and repent from these wicked acts; otherwise, they will face the punishment of Allah, and there is no escape from God’s wrath.
The prominent scholar further remarked: Those who commit kidnapping and extortion are attempting to defame the people of this region, who have lived with honor and dignity for centuries. No tribe or community should provide shelter or sanctuary to criminals. The public and tribal elders must confront this menace according to their capacity, and the authorities must likewise fulfill their obligations, even though officials have reportedly taken certain decisions and are preparing to implement measures. It is an obligation upon every individual to resist this evil to the best of their ability.

The Implementation of Justice Guarantees Security and National Survival / An Oppressor Ultimately Cuts Down His Own Roots
Concluding this section of his address, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid identified the implementation of justice as the fundamental guarantee for security and national stability, saying: Justice is vital, essential, the foundation of a nation’s survival, and the guarantor of peace and order. Justice must be established across all strata and throughout the entire nation. Allah Almighty may overlook the shortcomings committed regarding His own rights and leave their reckoning for the Hereafter, but He does not tolerate oppression inflicted upon His servants and holds the oppressor accountable in this world. When Pharaoh oppressed the Children of Israel, he was struck by divine retribution in this very life.
He continued: Whoever the oppressor may be, he is effectively striking an axe against his own roots. Everyone must steer clear of oppression. No one should be imprisoned without due process, nor should their assets be unlawfully confiscated. No individual’s rights should be compromised. Safeguard the rights of orphans; those who unlawfully consume the wealth of orphans are merely filling their bellies with the fire of Hell. Inheritance is the divine right of the heirs; the rights of daughters and sisters in inheritance must be strictly respected.
The President of Darululoom Zahedan stated: The worst form of injustice, for which God sends retribution in this world itself, is oppression against people. Therefore, beware and do not bring upon yourselves the cries, pleas, and prayers of the oppressed, for Allah Almighty directly hears the call of the oppressed and grants them justice.

At the conclusion of his address, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid expressed his deep condolences on the passing of the prominent scholar of Golestan province, Akhund Qari Haji Khodayberdi Dordipour, describing him as a pious, dedicated, and conscientious religious scholar. Praying for his forgiveness and the elevation of his ranks, he extended heartfelt condolences to the people of Golestan, particularly to the bereaved family, relatives, and students of the late scholar.
