Fill Your Time In Ramadan By Reading Al-Quran, Youths Told
quran_7Brunei’s Youths yesterday were reminded to occupy themselves during this holy month of Ramadan with the beneficial act of Quran reading, as well as other religious activities.

This message to the young generation was revisited during a religious lecture that was held in conjunction with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports’ annual Quran reading activities held especially for the youths.
The lecture, entitled Belia Berjiwa Besar, was delivered by an Islamic Da’wah Centre official, Ustaz Hj Mail Besar, during the ceremony at the Al-Ameerah AlHajjah Maryam Mosque in Kg Jerudong.
Addressing youths who comprised this year’s batch of qari and qariah (male and female Quran readers), Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College (Kupu SB) graduates, alumni of the Ship for Southeast Asia Youth Program (SSEAYP) and from other youth organizations, Ustaz Hj Mail urged youths to spend their time “wisely”.
The official explained that this can be achieved by carrying out “beneficial” activities, especially reading the Quran.
“Reading is one of the most fulfilling activities that you can do. Even more so if what is being read is Quran,” he told the youths.

Following the lecture, the Quran recitation itself began with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by the Jerudong mosque’s imam, Hj Sabtu Hj Abdullah.
The youth qari then took turns to lead the reading of the Quran, starting with Juzu’ 11. At the end of which, a recitation of the takhtim, tahlil and doa selamat were carried out. It was then did the 400 people broke their fast together, before performing a mass Maghrib prayers.
