Following the suspicious death of a young woman in the custody of the police on Friday 16th Sep. 2022 in Tehran, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid called for fair investigation.
Mahsa Amini, an Iranian Kurd citizen from Saqqez, was arrested by the Morality Police in Tehran and went into a coma on the evening of Tuesday, September 13, 2022, in a police guidance center. She was 22.
The most influential Iranian Sunni leader tweeted: “The incident that happened to Ms. Mahsa Amini by the Morality Police and led to her death is really bitter and painful and has greatly spread anxiety for the public opinion.”
“The officials should investigate and find the fact with sensitivity and inform people about it, and implement justice,” he said more.
Ms. Amini has been buried in the graveyard of Saqqez, Kurdistan, today, where hundreds of citizens took part in the funeral ceremony.
