Abduljalil Humoud al-Ziyadi, an imam at the Bin Shiddah Mosque in Muharraq, was kidnapped and murdered by a number of Asian men.
Initial reports of the heinous crime reveal that al-Ziyadi was kidnapped and taken to the area of al-Sikrab, where he was tortured prior to being chopped and dumped.
The Ministry of Interior announced on twitter the arrest of a 35-year-old Asian man accused of murder. They added that body parts were found distributed among several plastic bags dumped in a farmland near the area of al-Sikrab. The victim has not yet been identified.
According to the Bahraini newspaper, Al-Watan, the murder was triggered by a dispute between the Bengali community and the Iman who was involved in issuing visas.
The Imam’s family state that they last heard of him at the early hours of last Saturday after attending fajir prayer.
