Mawlana Abdol-Hamid asked the president of Iran in a letter to resolve immediately economic problems in frontier provinces, especially in Sistan-Balochistan and Kurdistan where trade points have been blocked.
The official website of Shaikh Abdol-Hamid, Friday imam of Sunnis in Zahedan alluded to the anger of people in Sistan-Balochistan and Kurdistan provinces, especially in Baneh County and termed their anger the result of “inappropriate economic situation” due to blockage of borders.
In a part of his letter, the most influential Iranian Sunni scholar expressed his anxiety from occupation of trades at the borders by some official bureaus.
He wrote: “Frontier trades used to be carried out by the people of those areas and they were earning by this channel, but blockage of borders and occupation of such exchanges by some authorities have marginalized the people.”
“Producing jobs for the people of frontier provinces is vital and redemptive. It is in favor of the people to reorganize and cut interests of governmental bureaus which have held trades,” president of Darululoom Zahedan and Friday imam of Sunnis underlined.
At the end of the letter, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid asked the president to eliminate people’s anxieties by an immediate and especial pursuit.
